I go to watch this movie and I notice right away that the music is ALL WRONG!!!! NO BOB SEGAR! It has Bruce Springsteens music instead. I cant even watch the movie now. I still cannot find where it says anything about this change on the DVD cover.

Review is for the item listed as August 12th, 1998 version. This should be the theatrical release but what was received is the directors cut with songs by Bruce Springsteen rather than Bob Seger. DVD received in great shape. Movie is great. But ultimately, Seger music goes so much better with this movie. I cannot give a 5-star review for the Springsteen version as it just doesnt hit like Seger.

Sam Elliott, Cher, and Eric Stoltz do a great job in this movie. On the top of my favorites list.

Rocky Dennis, the central character in this movie, proves without a doubt that true beauty lies within. Although he was hideously deformed, he possessed a beautiful soul and attempted to always reach for the stars, despite the considerable obstacles standing in his path. Although he was not destined to have a long life, his story and his heart will live on forever through this movie. A true tearjerker and a lesson to us to keep dreaming and always try our hardest. Wonderful. This movie deserves more than five stars.
