Mask: Directors Cut

Very pleased

Did not have original soundtrack.

Among the songs I noticed in the directors cut DVD of Mask I recently purchased, a subdued Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen was much less exciting than the Going to Katmandu that I had expected. I was glad Ripple by The Grateful Dead still had some words floating in the background of the most dramatic cold Rocky not getting up scene.

I like this movie because it is based on a true story and it is sad how people treat people who are different. I wasnt impressed by the language but I guess that how bikers talk but I would have preferred less bad language.

I just bought the movie Mask and it was awsome Cher is a great actress and singer ive been to one of her concerts and she has a powerful voice and she just inspirese me a whole lot i hope she does more movies in the future.

To all those who are losing it over the swap of Seger for Springsteen, it is because this edition is a directors cut. Bogdanavich originally wanted Bruce Springsteen tunes for the soundtrack. However, rights fees for the music was too high back in the 1980s to fit the movie’s production budget. So Bob Seger material was used. Which worked out well anyhow. I purchased this edition of the film, awaiting delivery. I have a sister with Down syndrome so I was able to relate to this film a little more than a typical viewer. Rocky Dennis was a fighter, as his tenacity has always resonated with me. The message in the movie is timeless and is applicable to anyone in today’s world if they search hard enough within themselves. Again, those who are freaking out about the soundtrack, try to find the original theatrical release. This one is meant to be different in sound. The story is still the same: which is inspiring!

Always enjoyed this heart filled movie. Its from my time, long ago. Always had it on VHS and saw CD on Amazon. Could not resist.
