> 3 dayOk, so I was a bit skeptical about the Vortex but after a few BBQs using the Vortex I’m sold on it. I do more with it than I originally thought I could do with it. I still believe it’s a little more pricey than it should be but if it holds up it might just be worth the money

Greater than one weekThe vortex is an awesome bbq accessory. Chicken wings came out amazing. I haven’t tried anything other than wings but excited to next summer. Very good quality. Solid piece of steel!

> 3 dayI try to on a whole chicken in the middle of the kettle with the charcoal around the outside of it, put plenty of charcoal because I cook mine for over two hours so a little more charcoal around the outside of this vortex would’ve cooked it a little faster but it did a good job keep it from burning.

Medium Size BBQ Vortex for Weber Kettle 22 or 26, XL BGE and Kamado or Weber Smokey Mountain.
INDIRECT COOKING
- Low & Slow Cooking/Smoking
- The Vortex can redirect the flow of heat up and around the meat which can turn your kettle into a true indirect ‘smoker’
- Vortex goes Wide-End up. Coals go around the perimeter onto the fire grate
- Place meat directly over Vortex in the center. The coals are lit on one end and snake/minion their way around the kettle
INDIRECT-DIRECT COOKING
- High Heat Indirect Cooking; it all started in an effort to get ‘fried-like’ skin on my chicken wings on the grill
- The Vortex creates a high heat that is directed upwards and radiates down around the kettle lid creating an even high heat
HOW TO USE
- Load up the Vortex Narrow Side Up
- Let coals ash over
- Put meat around perimeter
- If smoke flavor is desired, place a tennis ball sized chunk directly over Vortex onto grill grate
