> 3 dayThis does exactly what its meant to do. I mounted this to my pergola to control my outdoor string lights via Home Kit. The unit comes with two plug-ins and each can be controlled separately in the Home app. The only downside (in my situation using only one of the outlets) is that you have to go into the accessory to physically click on Outlet 1 or Outlet 2, but thats a minor downside as verbally telling Siri to turn on Outlet 1 works just fine. Its currently on a $5 discount and regardless, I would buy this again.

> 3 dayI bought this a year ago for use with HomeKit (Siri) for backyard lights. It isnt perfect, but it earns the fifth star: The bad: Setting up took a few tries, and maybe twice in a year, HomeKit required me to re-pair the device for reasons unknown. Requires you to turn off 5GHz, if you have it, to set up (2.4GHz only). Also, you may have to try a couple different names for the device and the separate outlets if you want to be able to control each plug separately while retaining the ability to turn them both on and off as a single device (e.g. front yard, back yard, whole yard). The good: Does the job. Switches on and off very quickly. Wifi works fine once its set up. If it requires re-pairing, the process isnt difficult. The button on the device works reliably even before its set up. Waterproofing has been reliable for a year, even through pretty heavy storms. The best: a week ago, I had to re-pair it and discovered that I hadnt written down the HomeKit code, and the sticker that had it printed on had come off. So I wrote in to Meross through their support page with a couple pieces of info (the devices default WiFi network name and its MAC address, both available from my Eero router control app), and they got back to me in a day with the HomeKit code for re-pairing (along with an apology for taking so long). I was very pleasantly surprised with that kind of high-quality customer support.

15-06-2025This plug is very easy to use and integrate with Apple Home Kit. The only drawback is it is a little bulky, but that is minor. Appears well made and can withstand outdoor use.

> 3 dayIve had smart devices in my home for many, many years now. I discovered Meross when needing an inexpensive garage door controller. It has been working flawlessly for over two years. Ive since purchased light switches and lamps and now this outdoor smart plug. It was very simple to get configured. The app (I use android) worked perfectly and walked me through the steps. Because I already have Meross devices, the Google home app picked up the new smart plug and I was controlling it with my voice with no trouble. My only complaint is because the Google home integration controls both outlets as one. The Meross app controls them independently. I think Meross should make the adjustment in the Google home integration to allow independent control of the two outlets. See attached images. Other than that, its a brilliant device!

> 3 dayIndividually control multiple outlets, via the app or via Alexa. HomeKit not required. Works great!

13-06-2025Was able to set this up immediately from HomeKit (unlike my WeMo plugs which had a 50/50 success rate). At first I thought both outlets were switched together, but realized HomeKit grouped both outlets as a pair in the app. So, best of both worlds, I can both outlets independently, or together. This allowed me to dump two of my other smart plugs and a splitter cable clean up the clutter behind the bookshelf. The fact that its weather proof is just a bonus to its versatility. For now, the Meross is still required if you want to update firmware. Its not a bad, but I prefer the unity of HomeKit to control all my devices. Do make sure you have good WiFi around where this is plugged in. I have the Meross garage door opener as well and both seem to be sensitive to poor wifi signal. Havent had any issues, but both devices almost constantly show me in red quality at ~72% signal. They still work like clockwork though, so it may not be that big of a deal, YMMV.

Greater than one weekLet me start with build quality. Its questionable. I ordered two. One came with an open crack between the two halves of the plastic body because the unit had not been assembled correctly. Fortunately, I was able to take it apart and re-assemble it. It is worth noting that there are no rubber gaskets or other seals to keep water out of the main housing. The two rubber outlet covers which were black in the product photos are actually yellow. They are very supple and seem to provide a good seal when inserted into the receptacles. (The only seal in the entire product.) However, when they are not inserted into the receptacles, they hang between the two receptacles from a very, very thin strip of rubber. It is not hard to imagine them getting accidentally torn off, but thats not even the biggest problem with them. It is almost impossible to plug in two cords at the same time because the products two receptacles are placed fairly close together and those hanging covers get in the way. You have to really pull the covers out of the way with some force to insert a second plug. It seems inevitable that the rubber covers will get torn off. If the designers had hung the covers in any other direction, this problem would have been averted. Similar products all get this right. Only meross gets it wrong. (Its worth noting that meross offers another version of this product—same model number but different housing—that does solve this problem...while creating another.) The biggest design hassle for me is the plug end of this product—the one that gets inserted into your AC receptacle. This is a product designed to be used outdoors. The designer should absolutely assume it is going to be plugged in inside a weather housing, yet meross drops the ball here too. The plug points down at a 90-degree angle. This means if you plug it into the top outlet, you cant use the bottom outlet. If you plug it into the bottom outlet, you cant close the door of the weather housing. If you want to use two of these units together, forget it. You cant. Attaching the cord to the plug at a 45-degree angle would have completely solved this problem. As is, there is no solution. So is there anything good about this product? Absolutely. It was easy to connect to HomeKit. Once you switch your iPhone over to the products ad hoc wifi signal while you set it up, everything works exactly like it should. And the product allows you to control each outlet independently. In fact, functionally, this product checks all the boxes. Unfortunately, its physical design is a deal killer.

> 3 dayWorks great! I have not been able to test long term use outdoors yet, but it is very handy and easy to use. I plugged it in, went to wifi settings, clicked on the device, and it asked me to scan the QR sticker on the device. It tried to connect and didnt work. The app wouldnt show it, and it wouldnt let me add it again because it said it was already there (but it didnt show up). I held down the power button on the device and it reset. I was able to repeat the same process and it worked the second time. Each switch can be controlled independently from your phone. It can also work with voice commands, but I have not tried those yet. I highly recommend!

Greater than one weekBought this device to control an outdoor fountain and LED fountain lights separately using Smartthings. Could not connect to Smartthings without first installing the Meross app and linking the plug to it. Once it was added to the Meross app, it easily connected to Smartthings. After a 1 hour power outage the plug would not reconnect to Smartthings, showed off line. The Meross app was able to control the plug however. I had to manually re-add the device to Smartthings. Returned to Amazon and ordered a Z-Wave device: Outdoor Z-Wave Plus On/Off Light and Appliance Plug, Two On/Off Smart Outlet, Zwave Hub Required, Works with SmartThings, Wink, Alexa (ZW97). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZVQXB4R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

> 3 dayI now have several of these devices in my HomeKit network. I am slowly replacing other outdoor switches as they are much less reliable, requiring periodic unplugging and replugging to get them to respond again. These Meross outdoor switches stay connected and work as advertised. I dont think I have had a single disconnection with them yet! Once or twice I have had to struggle a bit to set them up initially, but in those situations a second try always worked.
