> 24 hourI cannot attest to the ability of this product to protect against all surges, however, we have had some pretty severe storms and the radio is still operational. Also important is that Ive experienced no noticable insertion loss which was a concern. Ill definitely add more when additional antennas go up. The little bit of added peace of mind goes a long way.

> 24 hourA little pricey but solidly built. Nice fit and finish. Hopefully it offer some protection to the radio gear. I still disconnect the antenna from the radio during storms as it is unlikely this would protect in the event of a direct lightning strike.

> 24 hourThe name of the product may be overly ambitious. It probably cant stop a lightning strike from doing damage. It can, however, drain off the high impulse voltages produced by nearby lightning. It should be placed close to a ground rod, connected to the rod by heavy-gauge copper wire. Cut the coax and put a PL-259 connector on each side. Screw them onto the SO-239s on the lightning arrestor. Installation finished. You can feel a little more comfortable, but still remove the antenna cable from the radio during thunderstorms.

> 24 hourExcellent quality! My SWR actually dropped .5 when I added this with a suitable ground. Beware, many of the others have a 50 watt max! This is rated at 400 watts.
