> 3 dayJust a perfect caliper in every way. Can’t go wrong with it and it’s the go to caliper in the precision machine shop I’m in.

Greater than one weekUnsolicited feedback: With all of the fraudulent copy/knock-offs being sold online these days... I wanted to share with any potential customers that these Mitutoyo calipers are indeed genuine. These were purchased through the Amazon Mitutoyo Store and fulfilled by MSI Viking. Thank you!

> 3 dayFor what I received, this was the Real Mitutoyo 500-196-30 and not a Chinese knock-off. For the battery, I used a 357 but not the SR44 which came with the caliper. The trick was removing the battery from the compartment since the 357 is a touch larger than the SR44. For this, I used a small piece of duck tape to pull the battery out of the compartment. For the caliper, I only use this when needed. Most of the time, it remains in storage. As such, I do not want to leave the battery inside when not being used for a while.

> 3 dayI’ve used these calipers and many other mics and tools offered by Mitutoyo in my career. They never failed me. Tough. They take the oily, dirty jobs you are work on.

> 3 dayThis is what you buy if you need to know the readings will be correct 100% of the time. Great tool.

> 3 dayI bought my first Mitutoyo calliper 50 years ago and its still in good condition except the edges for inside measure gets little round. Now its much easier to read in mm and inches (not guessing), i like it (Ok its all depends how you care for the tools) . . .

> 3 dayThere is no suggestion of non-Japanese manufacture in my caliper. The box stripes, the least significant digit readout, shipping papers, all indicate Japan origin. Its a beautiful caliper. Smooth as heck. Readout not jumpy. No need to constantly re-zero. Button layout is logical and intuitive. I could never understand why some calipers have a separate on and off button. Im quite satisfied with mine. It seems genuine. Id buy it again.

> 3 dayI bought two other calipers prior to these. What a waist of money. I did watch a thirty-four minute video on You Tube before purchasing that showed how to tell the real Mitutoyo from the counterfeit. These are real, and awesome.

> 3 dayWhat can I say, I LOVE THESE CALIPERS!!! Ive had around 12 sets from various makers over the past few years and every set has had a week point whether it be jumpy, inaccurate, constant need to rezero, rough sliding mechanism, extremely sensitive to pressure, you name it. Not with these! I primarily use them in my reloading and occasionally to get a rough measurement on parts I make on my lathe. If you are thinking about getting them just go ahead and do it, and save yourself some time and aggitation. If I had bought these to begin with I wouldve even saved a few bucks overall.
