Easy to pull, foot markings are helpful.

Bought this to wire up a new home theater room in my house. I was running through walls so was looking for some sort of jacketed in wall cable. This fit the bill and was at a price (<$0.50/ft) that was tough to beat. The cable easily pulled through walls and small holes (as small as 5/16 dia in places where I wanted to be discreet). I read some reviews that said it is too stiff or difficult to install to wall plates; that was not my experience. I found it to be only slightly more stiff than non-jacketed speaker wire and as i said the jacket made it easily slide through the walls. I also attached the ends to Monoprice Banana Binding Post wall plates and found it to be plenty flexible for that purpose. The only odd thing I will note is that the black conductor is more difficult to strip than the red....odd, but still not a big deal. Would definitely buy again!

This is a solid product. Ran my whole media room with it. Great price point, would recommend. There is no need to waste anymore money for this gauge.

Its great wire, thicker gauge than my electrical wire (lol) and sounds great. It was just barely enough for my electrician to wire 10 in-wall speakers for my home theater setup in my decent sized family room, so that may help you gauge how much wire you need.

nothing wrong with the product, but go ahead and purchase it from Monoprice directly. I thought id save a bit on Monoprices steep shipping charges, but what I got was a spool of cable that was packaged horribly and one of the spool ends had broken so the cable has telescoped into a big knotted mess.

I would give them a 5 star if I could compare the difference in sound but I’m no expert. Bought it off my web research for distance and speaker ohms demand. 8 ohms at a distance of 100’. Overall product is well built and pulled through the house easy with little effort. Bought the brand because it was recommended by a home theater installer.

I recently wired my family room to be for surround. After many weeks of research then more research I decided on the Monoprice speaker cable. Many audiophiles & high-end home theater folks insist on the Blue Jeans brand. Yes they are awesome cables no doubt there. Being on a budget & having a small room I bit the bullet & opted for the Monoprice. Cost was a factor in my case, I wanted the best I could afford. I was not disappointed.

Solid copper speaker cabling. Didnt think the foot markings would be as helpful as they ended up being! The white jacket is quite loose around the two wires but didnt cause a problem with my install. Durably coated yet easy to strip.

Very nice quality wire. Inner jackets are thick and well made. Only dislike is the outer jacket is very loose. Not a problem, and I do not expect it to cause a problem pulling the cable, but would be nice if the jacket fit a little snugger.

The cable works great for my home theater system. The cost was not bad for this gauge cable.

Get the most out of your home audio system with high quality, oxygen-free, pure bare copper speaker wire from monoprice!

this speaker wire features two conductors made of high purity (greater than 99.95% pure), oxygen-free bare copper. Pure bare copper is a superior conductor to the copper clad aluminum (CCA) conductors used in most other inexpensive speaker wire. Cca is only about 68% as conductive as pure bare copper. This additional resistance is added to the impedance of your speakers and can negatively effect The sound.

for the wire to have no audible effect, The total wire resistance should be no more than 5% of the lowest impedance of your speakers. Even speakers rated for a nominal 8-ohms, may dip to as low as 4-ohms at some frequencies, which further reduces the total cable resistance allowed in the wire. Using pure bare copper speaker wire ensures that the total load put on the amplifier remains as close as possible to the impedance curve of your speakers.

for example, a 16AWG 2-conductor pure bare copper speaker wire has a total resistance of 0.803 ohms per 100 feet (both directions must be considered). by comparison, a 16AWG 2-conductor CCA speaker wire has a total resistance of 1.181 ohms per 100 feet. Assuming 4 ohms is the lowest impedance of your speakers, a speaker wire run can be no more 0.2-Ohms total. 20 feet of 16AWG pure bare copper would be 0.1606 ohms, well under the 0.2-Ohm limit. On the other hand, 20 feet of 16AWG CCA would be 0.2362 ohms, well over the 0.2-Ohm limit.

each conductor is jacketed with color-coded PVC for easy polarity identification. The entire cable assembly is jacketed in a white, CL2-rated PVC material. The CL2 rating indicates that the cable complies with fire safety and insurance requirements, making it safe for use inside the walls of residential class buildings.
