> 3 dayBravo! Ashley & JaQuavis have truly out done themselves. MURDERVILLE is an amazing story. A story so vividly told that as you read it play like a movie in your mind. This epic tale is one of survival, love, loss, revenge, and regret. Just when you think youve figure it out the rug is pulled right from under you. Youll fall in love with Ashai and you will feel Libertys pain. You will love this story. If you werent an Ashley & JaQuavis fan before you will be after reading this book. If i could give more than 5 stars I would!

> 3 dayThis book was an absolute page turner. The life of the two characters was absolutely incredible how they meet and later, grew apart. He went to a prominent rich king pin family and the girl was hoisted off to be a prostitute.

> 3 dayI would have given it four stars because although the story line was a bit depressing it was well written and a page turner. However, as a brown skin black woman-as Im sure a lot of their readers are- I found it very offensive w/the authors incessant obsession w/subtly promoting lighter skin or mixed characters as better looking or in a better light than dark or brown skin characters. Liberty one of the main protaganists was held in high esteem for her looks-as it was noted because she was a light skin African and later noted had white genetic make up mixed in there. They also HAD to let us know that another one of the main female characters who was lauded for her beauty had beautiful locs but not the right texture for it. What this does is let us know she doesnt have full on kinky hair so subtly telling us she has some mixed heritage in there as well. Ah ha-no wonder shes beautiful! Both of the most beautiful women in the brothel were not black at all. On the flip side, I can only recall one brown skin woman noted in the book-and she was never described as being pretty but was shamefully dismissed by both men she was in contact with. Also, two dark skin men who were I believe described as being black as tar or something to that effect were in short just evil. As black people we have to be diligent in actively rejecting these subtle or direct notions that somehow if youre mixed youre beautiful and if you just regular ol black folk your beauty is not worth mentioning-if its even believed to be there. It is important. Whether this was intentional or not it still has the same effect-black is not beautiful. And I actively reject it out loud! And its even worse when it comes from our own. They have to be aware of it too. I wont be reading the other two simply because I dont want to unconciously internalize any of that nonsense! Thats more important to me than a decent read.

> 3 dayAs usual A&J told another good story...I felt the love and connection between Ashai and Liberty. I also admired Ashais relationship with Baron and especially Willow. But when it was all said and done..this was a real depressing and sad story. Being familiar with the way these 2 authors write...Ive learned to always think outside the box when it comes to their stories so I was able to figure out the twists and turns before they were actually revealed and this made alot of things predictable to me. I wasnt really satisfied with the ending and felt it was a bit rushed...It left alot to be desired with more questions than answers. I guess once Im finished reading the whole trilogy and all the holes are filled then Im quite sure that this will all turn out to be a 5star read...I just have to look at this story as one big puzzle piece and once the rest is released all of it will come together and make sense.....but so far this was a typical A&J read for me. If you are a rookie to A&J stories then you will love this book but as a veteran it just seems like I than read it all before. I give it 3.5 stars

> 3 dayThis book started out really slow for me but the further I read the more intense it became. I loved the LOVE that those two held for each other. AShai was a true beast in a good way he would let nothing stop him from rescuing Liberty once he found out where she really was. However I did noy like the ending at all, I will read Murderville 2 to see where its at. Jennifer Hightower Phenomenal Divas Book Club/President

Greater than one weekI HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF ASHLEY AND JAQUAVIS BUT THEY REALLY HAVE OUTDONE THEMSELVES WITH MURDERVILLE. I WAS NOT SURE OF WHAT TO EXPECT AT FIRST BUT I LOVED IT. THEY TOOK STREET LIT TO ANOTHER LEVEL. FOR ONCE THE WHOLE BOOK WAS NOT ABOUT HUSTLIN. LOVE AND REAL LIFE ISSUES WERE FOREFRONT WHILE THE DRUGS TOOK A BACKSEAT. I WISH THINGS HAD TURNED OUT DIFFERENTLY FOR LIBERTY AND ASHAI BUT AT LEAST THEY GOT TO HAVE SOME GOOD TIMES TOGETHER. I CANT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT PART OF THIS TRILOGY DROPS. GET ADDICTED!
