Nextorage Japan 1TB(1000GB) Internal SSD Work with Playstation 5 and PC M.2 2280 Gen4 NVMe with Heatsink NEM-PA1TB/N SYM Maximum Transfer Rate Read: 7300MB/s, Write: 6000MB/s

I have been waiting awhile for a decent ps5 ssd. So I went on YouTube and was watching videos when I came across this ssd. And for the price you really cant complain an ssd with a heatsink sold. Also I havent ran into any issues at all after install. Will post if I do run into any issues. Other then that its a great ssd for the price.

I installed these in both a PS5 and a desktop computer and in both the temperatures were higher than what I would want to see for a M.2 SSD. At least 10 C higher than a Samsung equivalent. This is the reason I returned them as in my mind, the reliability of these drives is directly proportional to the heat levels they stay at. Good value for the money though.

I chose this drive based on some positive review videos I watched. It wasn’t the cheapest option or the most expensive, but in the reviews the performance was great. This drive is also made by a subsidiary Sony company so it’s the closest thing to an official PS5 NVME drive on the market. The installed heatsink and overall drive looks well made and I’m sure heat won’t be an issue. I installed the drive in about 5 minutes, and the system immediately recognized it and formatted the drive. My speed came out to about 5700 Mbps. I was expecting 6500+, so I I initialized it again and had the same results. I decided to go ahead and copy some games over, and the process went very fast, comparing it to my series X with a 2TB expansion this ps5/nextorage combo is a bit faster. I’ve loaded and played a few games and this drive is just as fast as the built in storage, I assume the ps5 speed measuring process isn’t always accurate, and it’s aggravating the only way to run another speed test is to format the drive again. I did not have a suitable PC to try the drive on for a more accurate speed test. I thought maybe there was a firmware update for the drive that would help, searched the nextorage website and did not find any firmware updates so that’s not the case. I debated exchanging the drive but decided since actual performance is great I’m not going to bother, results would likely be the same. When I ordered this drive I also got an external USB enclosure in case of a firmware update before I installed it, but with no firmwares available that wasn’t necessary. I’m overall pleased with this drive and would purchase it again.

This SSD Hard-drive is fantastic. It dose the same thing as the brand name Hard-drives & cost much less. Easy install, easy set up, so worth the money. Plenty of videos online to help you install it. Also, it comes with the Heat-sink so no need to have to buy one.

I’m using this in my newly bought PS five and couldn’t be happier!! Good item and a great price!! Works very well too!!

Fits the PS5 flawless. Not yet played games from this storage.
