I purchased 13.0 because 12.5 dose not work with Windows 10. I tried to install 12.5 when I got my new computer and it wouldnt install. I called support at Nuance. Sorry does not work w W-10. Dont you have an update to make 12.5 work w W-10? No you have to buy 13.0. Grrr! I purchased 13.0. This program is very time consuming to install. Finally got it installed along with my profile from 12.5. Make sure to save your voice profile if you are upgrading. There is a huge learning curve with this program. But after training it recognizes most words. I use it mostly for word dictation. I dont try to dictate the commands. Way too confusing. It is a great help in doing my rough drafts very quickly.

I have used Dragon for many years and this is the first version that has lived up to the hype. Right out-of-the-box it started working and was compatible with the previous version of Dragon that I use which was a professional version. In fact I am using Dragon to dictate this message. So far so good. Also it is important for me to mention that this version works seamlessly with windows 10. The previous professional version did not work with windows 10. This version transitioned seamlessly. I really am loving this version and highly recommend it.

I am so grateful for this product! I bought it on July 6th, 2017 and sporadically trained my dragon over the next month, though it didnt take much time for dragon and I to understand each other. At 45 years old, I went back to college... I did not know where going back to college would lead me because I really didn’t plan to be there. My retirement came early due to a disability caused by an hereditary motor-sensory nerve disorder, Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT). I was comfortable raising children and sending them off to college. Being complacent with life as it was, I couldn’t foresee anything changing. It wasn’t until I fatefully ended up at the college orientation for my boyfriend (who was going back to college for additional welding certificates), did I realize that I could strive for a better future for myself and my family. Going back to school changed my path andupended my complacency. But I was worried. Prior to CMT, I typed 122 wpm, after CMT I can still type 60ish wpm, but that is only if I am looking directly at the keyboard. If I take my eyes off the keyboard it is incoherant, because I can no longer feel the keys. Using Dragons talk-to-text technology allows me to type fast without mistakes, without frustration, and without additional strain on my atrophying fingers/hands/wrists. I am happy to announce, that after 5 semesters I graduated with 2 associate degrees in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, while earning Scholastic awards for both for having the highest GPA for both. 46 years old, disabled and 4.0 GPA... Heck ya!!! At graduation I looked like Michael Phelps up there with all my medals! Id also like to note: The headset that comes in the box gave me an awful headache, but so do most headbands, so I am very glad that I bought the bundle that included the Koss CS100 Speech Recognition Computer Headset. Furthermore, I bought, but never read the book The Writers Guide to Training Your Dragon: Using Speech Recognition Software to Dictate Your Book and Supercharge Your Writing Workflow (Dictation Mastery for PC and Mac). I personally didnt need it, but others might.

When they say turn off your anti-virus software they mean it. It will not install with your anti-virus software active (all sorts of strange errors). Also, this is a very big application. It took so long to install (almost an hour) that I thought something was wrong. I called Nuance and they provided a link to download the product to my computer so that it would install faster. By the time I found the link and started to download, the application finally installed. I First used this product back in the late 1990s when I was temporarily unable to use my left arm. I bought this one for my mother. I was pleased to see the learning module. While my mother is having a lot of trouble with the product, Im chock that up to being a technophobe who does not follow directions. I found it easy to configure and use. It is not a perfect solution, but then again we do not live in the Star Trek Universe. You still need to do some mouse clicking and some typing, but it does save you from having to do a lot. If you take the time to learn how it works and take more time to teach it what you need it to do, it will serve you well. I did not give it 5 stars because of the install issues (they really should tell you how to turn off the major anti-virus softwares and warn you that it will take a long time). Also, Im a little tired of sitting with my mother teaching her how to use it. The education lessons were not designed for the generation who can really benefit from the product; aging adults over 70.

Would not recommend this software to someone with a southern accent - I could not get product to understand my words no matter how many times I tried the setup feature that should teach the program my voice. Im fairly decent with computers but this is one of the few items Ive had to return to Amazon. It did come with a nice headset which impressed me, so Ill give it 2 stars instead of one. I felt bad that it didnt work since it would have made my life much easier. The software install and setup seemed easy and software was easy to navigate. Just a caution - once installed it seemed to make some of my other programs open slower. Update 12/1/19: I returned this software for a refund a week after purchase. However, I really needed a voice to text software and ended up buying the pro edition (even though I feared it wouldnt be any better). It was a struggle to get the software loaded but I called Dragon support and they helped. Turns out the pro version works great for me. Im using a low-cost USB mic that had high ratings (not a headset).

I have dyslexia--not the kind where you have trouble reading, though. I have enormous trouble typing, and get the letters mixed around with as many as 3 to 7 typos per sentence. This meant I was a dismally slow typist. Worse, I am a writer and editor. When writing I would lose the flow of what I wanted to say when I went back to fix each sentence. Well, no longer. Dragon NaturallySpeaking Home 13 has changed my life. I used to get 1,000 words on a good 8-hour day of writing; now I can write over 1,000 words an hour. And my editing work is so much faster that I have more time to write! I know there are newer versions, but this one works for me just fine. I was up and running in two days and it just keeps getting better as Dragon adapts to my pronunciation and I learn more commands. I am one happy, satisfied customer.

As stated, it was very accurate right out of the box. The tutorial was only semi-functional on my laptop, and extremely brief. The headset is of surprisingly decent quality, with respect to the microphone, but lacks adjustability, cord length, and becomes uncomfortable after a few hours. I have a smaller head, for an adult, and it squeezes my ears and head, causing a pressure headache. It would be helpful to add a better quick-guide in the box, as the one provided is only a card stock fold out, and does not have many useful commands listed. The new features greatly improve functionality, and only took a few hours to get used to the dictation style. Overall, great software, mediocre hardware.

Unlike others I dont type 100 wpm so VR has been the holy grail for me. After reading a glowing review I was so excited abt getting Dragon 13. What I didnt realize is that you cant use it with any other software programs other than Windows related ones or easily with web browsers. (Just found out thiisnt even true!) I primarily bought it to use with Nolo willmaker which Ive been putting off...but now cant use. I called tech support and even he felt bad for me, lol. He told me to return it but it isnt possible. And PLEEEEASE its a nightmare to use unless you enjoy having a manual next to you while your trying to use it. I have ADD so concentrating is a bit difficult and I thought it would be so much easier to speak my thoughts but with each sentence I have to figure out how to issue about 10 commands. Its also soooo slowwww. I type faster when I hunt and peck. OK, after reading other reviews by longtime competent users who are still frustrated I dont feel as bad but Im stll so dissappointed that my slow typing is actually easier. It seems the Voice Recognition Id hoped for is still out of my reach. Ps I JUST FOUND OUT THAT DRAGON 13 WILL NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS 7!!! So now I can only dictate text into their text box...this was a total waste. I guess theyre working with Microsoft to force you to upgrade!!

I love it. Over 11 years ago tried a program like this for medical dictation and it didnt work at all. Recently because of some bursitis I thought I would purchase this program based on some positive reviews I saw in the last week. Im having to do some dictation with medical terminology and it works great I love it. I wish I wouldve considered purchasing this unit months ago as I believe I would have been able to accomplish a lot more work with my note taking. Its amazing it works so well. Its easy to use. I recommend this definitely

I used to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking back in 2012 when I first started freelance writing. I found it to be extremely helpful and my accuracy was easily at 99.5% or higher. However, I stopped using it for some reason. But, Im back at it again. I picked up the 13.0 edition, hoping that it would work with Windows 10, and it has not had any problems at all. I did a little accuracy training, and now this thing is quite accurate. I write anywhere from 1,000 to 4,000 words per day using DNS and have been doing so for the past month or so. I write faster and better now that I am actually saying the sentences out loud, as opposed to typing them out and hoping they flow well during the editing process. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to preserve their hands and/or increase their productivity.
