Philips Hue Smart Plug for Hue Smart Lights, Bluetooth & Hue Hub Compatible

I originally set up my home with Apple HomeKit, and for my 10+ smart plugs, I used another brand, which does not require a hub, i.e. it has direct wifi connection. It was also 1/3 the cost. However, those plugs would constantly disconnect and cause interference with other wifi devices. In contrast, all of the devices that I have that use an ethernet bridge + z-wave, like this Philips smart plug, all stay connected without issue. Although these Philips smart plugs are very pricey, they actually work, they always work, and they keep working. Im always willing to pay more for a quality product that actually works. After switching to these smart plugs, I have absolutely no connection issues with anything in my home. I cant tell you how happy I am:-)

I use this plug for my Christmas tree lights. It works great I can use my voice to turn the tree lights off and on. Im a little bit trashy so writing this review now in May my Christmas tree is still up and I still turn the lights on every night using voice commands to my Alexa Amazon echo thing that control my array of Philips hue products. Im not sure what I will use this plug for if I ever get around to taking my tree down. at this point its as close to next holiday as as last holiday so I may as well just let it ride and maybe take it down in 2024.

Ive owned Hue products for about 10 years now, I think. Always innovative, but often expensive. I owned several of the old version of these switches and needed another one so I decided to go with the V2 one. I like it. Unlike the old one, where I would have to instruct guests to press the power button repeatedly to change scenes/brightness levels, now I can tell them the power button turns it on or off and the Hue button on the bottom changes scenes. It makes a little more sense to people, I think. You can, of course, customize the power and Hue buttons. I love that the Hue button can be pressed up to five times for different scenes. The separate brightness buttons are good, too. I like the V2 switch more than the V1 one for sure.

I purchased this device to add to all my Philips HUE home lights. This is an must ave addition. It will give all home members an easy to use switch/. We added it to our tining table light and the living room lights. Now if we like to switch on or of the lights we just put the switch on the table and everyone can access the swicth. Installation is easy and adding lights to the 4 switches is easy with the HUE app. I recomand this to all HUE fans.

If you want simple, quick set-up of this remote, disregard the enclosed instruction sheet which tells you that the set-up button is inside the battery cover, along with a QR code for you to scan. All I did was open the Hue app on my iPhone and go to settings. Select Accessories, then the + sign at the top-right, and finally select the Dimmer switch. Then simply follow the steps. I had this up and running in less than 3 minutes. No need to open the battery cover, or press the set-up button on the remote. This device also get registered in your Alexa app. Seems you can add a routine to the device which I havent figured out the purpose... Anyway, this is really a quick, inexpensive method to have a physical device to control your lights.

Super easy to install and setup! I just attached it to a wall near the kids rooms and now have an instant, easy access light switch that they can use, too! Really quite convenient and highly recommend, albeit maybe wait for a sale as it is a bit pricey. However, it is outstanding quality. No issues at all with delays or misreads. Has worked instantly every time!

Works well. Sticks to the wall and the remote itself is magnetized, which is a really nice touch. The instructions are a little outdated however, but once I looked them up on hues website setup was very quick.

Handy if you live in a larger home and great to have one in the garage for the house. This is way more than you need for an apartment. Just one of these switches controls up to four rooms independently. However rotary dial is for only the main room for which it is programmed or for which it is installed. Amazing flexibility. Each of the four buttons breaks down into four separate components. Allowing independent control of each environment. So you can set light for each room independently. personally think the best use is for before you enter your home so if you have a garage tO mount one in the garage for the rest of the house. When you arrive home from work and if you dont have automation set press 1 button and the entire house can light. Or simply turn the dial and if so programmed entire house will come on to whatever seeing you have set for each room the flexibility is amazing.

The future that were living in is great but its not perfect. Sometimes voice commands are misunderstood and just end up wasting a lot of time. I also dont want to have to use my phone as a light switch. This is much easier to use as a more practical solution for me and for my guests.

Love this switch. I have it simply placed on my nightstand to control 4 zones in my home. It’s sleek and easy to put anywhere. The wall mount looks high quality as well, with a magnetic back to use the switch more as a remote. For now, just sitting on the nightstand is perfect.
