> 3 dayI have used USB hub via a computer port which does not have enough power to work with the high-capacity external drive. This hub plugin and works well. The price is a little high. The design with individually turn-on ports is great, but you cannot see if it is turned on or off. These are small issues, in general, it is a good hub.

> 3 dayI have been using a Linksys Pro Connect 4-port hub for years. It comes in handy being desktop. It only has 4 ports total and they are always on, and act like a USB hub and/or charging station. Thats fine and dandy. The leg up this ikuai 7 port has is that it is more compact and has 7 ports three of which are dedicated to quick charging. The other 4 ports are 3.0 USB ports. The really cool thing about this hub/switch is that it has a round push on/push off button to turn that port on or off. Thats great when you want to charge up a device for example and not have it be recognized and mess with your computer. The 4 USB ports have the same on/off switch as well so maybe you have a device you want to leave plugged in, for example a USB mic for doing video conferencing, but dont want it on all of the time. It has a data speed transfer rate of up to 5 Gbps. The thing I really like about this is its size. It is not a foreboding device sitting on my desk. It is slim, and have this nice chrome beveled angle edge with gives it a flair of sophistication. You can use it as a shirt pocket size carry around with your device and no AC 110 is needed whereas it will draw the current from your computer via your USB port that it connects to. While at home connect the included A/C adapter for increased charging capabilities. I like it. Im glad I have it. I am sure I will get years of satisfaction from using it.

> 3 dayWorks just like it says it does. Testing a USB 3.0 flash drive gave similar speeds (about 5MB/s less) than plugging it in directly to the mobo. NOTE: the bottom (red) USB port is only for charging and will not connect to your computer.
