> 3 dayProducts work great so far ! For those who complain about the QVO speed it’s a shame as it not even too noticeable, quality is there it’s a Samsung, so unless you want to transfer TB and more than 70 GB per files then yes it’s slightly slower to the EVO line ,but even transferring a 70gb file you will get a blast speed considering the HDD we used to have, I purchased the SABRENT 2.5 inch case for making this SSD disk external and so far it was a charm, Make sure if you got a MacBook to format your SSD as it won’t appear at first so you got to go on Disk utilities as then your system will detect it. Would buy again as the price is very cheaper compared to EVO line.

11-06-2025SSDs are fast so within ten seconds of hitting the power button my computer is fully loaded. Im not sure what the higher end models offer that this doesnt but everything loads quickly and theres a lot of space.

Greater than one weekFinally pulled the trigger and bought a big 2TB SSD. Hard to decide which brand to chose. My other s were Crucial an never had a problem. Those were 1TB drives. Price / reputation / reviews / support / brands all came into play. This is my first Samsung. Finally got my SSD after it was mis-shipped to a postal center far, far away - and took a few extra days to get here... OK... got it... opened the package and it looked pretty slick. but no adapter/ spacer to adapt it to 9mm thickness from the 7mm form factor. Hmmmm! All the other manufacturers I bought SSDs from before, and the write ups on their respective Amazon listing included the spacer. This one didnt. Went online and downloaded Samsungs sick Samsung Magician utiity to clone the drive and do maintainance as needed. Loaded it up without a hitch. Told me that my brand new $250+ SSD isnt compatable with Samsung Magician. Dumped the program, reinstalled again... same result This program does not support the drive!! Unindtall the program, re download the program again to insure the latest version was downloaded and reinstalled again... same result. Existing drive was not supported (ok original isnt a Samsung) and the new Samsung drive was NOT SUPPORTED yet again! By now Im not happy! I just wasted 3 hours screwing around with what should have been an easy install! Tried 3 more times and still no joy! Different USB ports, Tried different USB-SATA cables.... nothing! Same results Drive not supported.... Even went to Windows Control Panels administrative tools (it saw the bare drive) and enabled the new drive. Retried Magician and no luck- still said unsupported drive! Finally uninstalled and deleted Magician (good name: you have to be a frikkin magician to make it work!) Fired up a resident copy of my old faithful Acronis True Image and off to the races!! Since the original drive had about 850GB on the 1TB drive, it took a while to format, set partitions and copy the data to the new drive. It was finally done. Had to somewhat jury rig a spacer to securely attach the new drive inside the laptop (remember: no spacer!) Replaced the battery and plugged the AC power back in and with fingers crossed, pushed the power button.... It came to life! YAY!! Dont know if its because its a 2 TB drive, or that its a 860 QVO model, or the fact that its host is12GB RAM and the other is a 16GB machine, or simply my imagination and expectations, but its _perceptably_ not as fast as the Crucial 1TB drive in the other machine. Certainly faster than the old 1TB platter drive it replaced, but not as fast as the 1TB Crucial SSD. Cold boot time is about 30-40 seconds. Overall... its ok - 3.5 to 4 stars overall. Might try to reload Magician for its upkeep and houskeeping utility now that its installed and running. Maybe there is a optimizing utility there too. But for a piece of plastic with a couple of chips and a circuit board, I think its pretty spendy at $260 plus tax (but about $40 bucks less than the Crucial) I know it sounds simplistic but I feel this stuff is stilll majorly overpriced- but I needed the capacity! In a couple of years, these will be selling for under a hundred bucks and profit willl still be made. Im not begrudging making a profit but come on, lets be reasonable! 4TB are $550? Must be some of those new Convenience Fees revenue enhancer tacked onto the costs. Samsung: At least fix the Magician software to recognize your product (especially when the getting started insert tells customers to go to their website and download the utility program to install format and transfer Time will tell. Warranty is 3 years rather than the 5 years offered on the other. Calculating the TBW and my useage shows it should last me. Time will tell. Ill update this review after some actual use...
