The USB connector in this model slides in and out, so when you are hooking it up to a computer you have to very forcefully hold your thumb on it, pushing it out so it will make a proper connection to the input jack. Its hard to tell when it is all the way in. Once it appears to be in and data is transferring to and from it it is fine. Being able to retract the input jack is good for protection, but the cover is only plastic.
