theres no protective layer for the bare shaft of the joystick. i wish it had one. otherwise the item overall is in excellent condition.

Joystick is great especially with a octagonal limiter, but the buttons are a bit weird for my taste but they have good build quality.

When the package arrived, it was a small box tightly wrapped in bubblewrap and tape. The label said MADE IN CHINA. Sanwa Denshi parts are from Japan though. I suspect these are clones. I didnt bother opening nor installing this stuff. Insta-return. If you want genuine parts for your fight stick, order from specialty shops like focus attack or arcade shock. Theyre not even that much more expensive, and at the time of this writing they were equivalent in price. All the clips on the cheap joysticks in my Pandoras Box retro arcade console had broken and rendered the console useless. Purchased a couple of Sanwa joysticks and buttons as replacments. It changed the experience entirely. The responsiveness is better than when the console was new. One note: the default configuration has the restrictor plate in 4-way mode. Most will likely prefer it in 8-way mode so dont forget to change the configuration before installing.

I purchased this controller and installed it in my new Pandoras Box video game system to replace the factory controller that was originally installed in the system. The Sanwa controller fit well and was easy to install, but the Sanwa controller did not change the control of games like Pac Man.

If you are building or modifying a stick, you cant do better than Sanwa for value and classic feel. I wont recommend japanese over korean parts, or vice versa, but japanese parts feel clickier and more standardized in a way. Look elsewhere if you are looking for the feel of korean machines.

I can only say its a little bit better than the cheap buttons, dont think it worth the money i paid

I wasn’t sure about the color with the Qanba Obsidian, but it looks good! Everything feels really good and genuine parts. Definitely recommend!
