Yes, this is a good helmet, but probably not for a 5 year old. My 5 year old is an active biker and I hoped this would be a good fit. Its not! Changing the adjustment to the smallest setting does not ensure a good fit for my child. Most of the time it seems to be sliding to the side of his head - though he doesnt care at all. I wish this helmet came with more age and size description, but I suggest that this is not for 5 year olds.

Works for my 8 year old son.

Our 5 and 7 year old each have one of these helmets - one in purple and one in blue. The helmets fit great and are comfortable. Love the back adjustment that will grow with them so we can get more use out of the helmets. The chin strap is tightened as far as it will go in order to fit the five year old, and it does just barely get small enough - that was expected since the suggested age is 8+. Love the colors on both helmets. So nice to find something that fits, is safe, and that doesnt have characters on it. Great buy!

Got it for my son. He says its the best one hes had. Very lightweight and adjusts easily. Looks like it will protect his head well in the event of a spill but were hoping he doesnt have to find out.

First one arrived with a strap that had separated from the helmet. The replacement arrived just fine, but my son prefers the feel of the helmet that this was intended to replace. Thats probably just a matter of being more comfortable with what hes accustomed to, and has broken in. This helmet is light weight, easily adjustable, and appears to be a good fit for kids.

Bought it for a 9 y.o. Its just doesnt stay on, always sliding.
