Ive owned a couple of Kipling bags throughout the years and theyve all been great; this one is no exception. I love the bright red color and as usual its made of water resistant material that is actually nice looking. Of course the little ape is a nice touch, too :)

I love the look of this bright red laptop backpack; it is bold and merry. On top of that, its a well-made backpack, with plenty of details (though a couple features could be improved -- Ill mention those later). Its very light, spatious and has plenty of pockets: two zippered ones in the front (one plain, the other one with pockets for a cell phone, pens, etc.), a very shallow zippered pocket next to the top handle (to keep credit cards and cash, maybe?) and the main compartment, which has a padded 15 laptop compartment and an additional big but very loose unpadded pocket. Two external bottle pockets on the sides that can fit an up to 20-oz bottle. Faux-leather lined and sturdy top handle. Impeccable stitching and sturdy zippers with cute big zipper pulls. The back and the straps are medium padded. Now, when I compare it with an Eagle Creek laptop backpack (my gold standard for bags), I see a couple features that could be improved; mainly the laptop sleeve (it is too loose and has no strap to keep the laptop in place -- see my photos), but Id also have added some padding to the smaller organizational pockets and, instead of the big unpadded open pocket in the main compartment (which is way too loose to keep things in place), Id have put in there a zippered mesh pocket.
