Stonemaier Games Viticulture Essential Edition Board Game, for 156 months to 9600 months

Awesome game

This game is fun, the board is beautiful and it plays great with smaller groups. Once you learn the basics get the expansion Tuscany for an even better experience.

Weve played this game almost every day since we got it two weeks ago. Its fairly easy to learn, dont let the many pieces intimidate you - most things are pretty self-explanatory and the rule book does a very good job clearing things up if you just read it. As you can guess there is really high replay value to it, and the rules are easily customizable to make it easier or, in our case, more challenging :p The mom and dad cards were kind of weird but I guess they set up the game more interestingly every time. We havent tried the one-player game with the Automa cards but we plan to soon.

Another fantastic Stonemeier game, although not as spectacular as Wingspan.

It took a little bit for us to learn this game. While learning it our group was taking a more cooperative approach with helping each other try to strategize plays and moves. This continued through the majority of the game until the end when the victory points started to matter the most. Theres a lot that you need to do in order start making wine, from building structures, planting fields, and harvesting the fields. In the beginning of the game there wasnt much point movement because everyone is setting up their winery and preparing. The draw cards always have very helpful perks on them so we discovered it was a good option to draw the cards. Its a very laid back and casual game and a lot of fun. We plan to play it again soon!

Good theme, fun with two players

Delightful game.

Viticulture has become one of my top favorite board games. It is a fast-moving game that easily incorporates a wine-making theme with elements of strategy, planning, and competition. It is relatively easy to learn, and has good replay value. It also sets up pretty fast, which is a plus. I do recommend getting the Tuscany expansion along with Viticulture - it adds a lot more strategy and complexity to the game. It also makes it more fun if you are playing with 2 people.

Incredible game. Love the game mechanics of having your own game objectives but also love the conflict of conflicting opponents objectives. If you appreciate well thought out game mechanics, you will love this game! Introduced this game to several friends and each continually wants to play the game again at another time!
