I really like this monitor. I needed a monitor with integrated speaker, because I dont have external speakers with my computer (and I dont want them). So I was concerned when I read some of the reviews that said the sound was not good. I havent found that to be the case at all. In fact, I think the sound is a bit better than my old monitor. I did discover that the factory setting was only at 50%, but I raised it up to 100% with the button on the bottom of the monitor, and of course I can still adjust the sound in the normal way with the speaker icon, so Im happy with the sound. Im also happy with the size of the monitor and with the image clarity, etc. And setting it up was super easy, which is important to me, because Im no techie. So this monitor is working out very well for me. Glad I bought it.

My dad has this monitor for the computer in the house. I use to LOVE using his computer over mine until I made the same purchase myself. My dad has a really good computer guy ($140.00/hour). He does amazing work, but of course I can’t afford him. I’ve had amazon for years, so I try to get all of my items from Amazon vs. dealing with a direct person or going to a store. I found this on amazing, and the best part was that it was cheaper here than with my dads computer guy and with the free 2-day shipping. I actually think it was free 1-day shipping. I love that the buttons to run off are easy to use. I like how the light goes on when you turn the monitor on and goes away when it’s being turned off. The quality of the screen is very good. I would highly recommend this.

[+] THE REVIEW: I got this monitor for programming code. I am not going to speak to the monitors color accuracy. I am assuming if you really want to have tuned color you need to use a hardware device to color correct any monitor you purchase. I dont have that hardware. The colors, as far as the naked eye goes, look great. As mentioned you need to first adjust the brightness and contrast. I turned mine down to 40%. I did not make any other color corrections. The 1080p works great for dotnet programming with visual studio. The wider screen allows me to have my toolbox and my properties windows active all the time without it interfering with the space to design the form. It actually works better than expected. For this price I am really glad I took a chance and purchased this monitor. [Update: 11/19/2014] The more I use this monitor the more I really love it. I am so use to using it now that I prefer it to my laptop screen. I stream HD video to watch Amazon Instant Videos, and it is perfect. When I looked at the price I paid, I forgot it was so low. I highly recommend buying this monitor if you are a programmer or just want to watch anything in HD. [Update: 5/27/2018] Im still using this monitor about 4 years later, and it works great. No dead pixels and color remains perfect.

This is my first time buying a separate monitor for my laptop. Its wonderful having a great big screen, where I can easily put two documents side-by-side (like a source document and my notes document when I do research) and see them both easily without my reading glasses. As for the resolution, Ive been spoiled by the incredibly high resolution on my new MacBook Pro, so the this screen is a step down, but still very good. I sometimes wish it could get a teensy bit brighter. Also the sound quality, though it might be better than most monitors (I dont know) is still not that great--far inferior to my little Bose stereo that I hook up my phone to. And its several clicks on different buttons to increase or decrease volume, so its a nuisance for listening to music, but fine for, say, watching a short video clip or videoconferencing. By the way, for videoconferencing I had to buy a separate camera. But I dont know of any monitors that have the camera built in, so thats life.

I was looking for a decent size/quality, all-purpose monitor to use for gaming, work, and occasional some tv/movies, and this delivered without breaking my budget. Ive used it for three months and am quite happy. 1080p, multi-input, and essential features sold me on it. With minor adjustments to brightness and contrast I think the picture quality is very good, black/white/color accuracy are all good in my non-expert opinion. The menu is simple and fairly easy to navigate, considering there are only four buttons. Image adjustments are more than enough to suit personal preferences, including game mode/eco mode, auto-off, sleep, plus some things you probably dont need (Example: Response time can be set as standard advanced or ultra fast). The up button acts as a shortcut to enable/disable game-mode quickly. There are more advanced manual adjustments listed that are greyd out, perhaps only available in certain modes or reserved for a more expensive model, but nothing Id want to mess with. Gaming on max settings Ive been more than satisfied, screen tearing has been quite rare/minimal. The included stand is basic but felt reliable, would shake a bit when I typed on my old desk, but I ditched it for an arm-style mount to save space and so I could tilt the screen. VESA mounting was a breeze. The built in sound was surprisingly good, decent volume, but I have better speakers so I only tested it briefly. My only minor gripes: With default settings, the clear plastic bit along the bottom remains illuminated blue when powered on. It makes for a very large power indicator, and I found it distracting when watching movies in a dark environment. It can be disabled (Menu >Setup Menu > deselect Power Indicator) so that it only flashes once when pressing a button or going to sleep. No longer distracting but still unnecessary. Took off one star for that and the stand. Its perfectly functional but if youre picky or your desk isnt just the right height youll probably want to buy a better one.

I knew my old monitor was dying when it would fade to black within a few seconds of being turned on -- but I didnt realize how bad it had been until I turned on this ViewSonic monitor -- WOW!!! It is clear & bright -- I can really identify items on my display. About the shipping -- I ordered it from Amazon because they said 2 day shipping. I was disappointed when they informed me that it wouldnt arrive until Friday - snow was also coming - (I was really wanting it on Wednesday!) But Amazon has alternate shippers that really came through -- they delivered it yesterday (Wednesday). Congratulations to Amazon for not only having quality products but finding a way to have it delivered as originally stated!

I bought two of these monitors for my home office, and mounted them to a dual monitor arm... I also bought the Assurion 4 Year warranty to go with them. These monitors have worked great for the last two years, however, one of them has a problem with the HDMI port now, and called Assurion to file a claim, and get the monitor replaced. Because I have them mounted on a dual monitor arm, I had no use for the monitor stand that comes with the monitors, and we got rid of those. This is where the problem with Assurion comes up... because I no longer have the monitor stand to send back with the monitor (that they are just going to destroy anyway), the REFUSE to honor the warranty, and will NOT process my claim. According to the rep I was speaking with, if I cannot return EVERYTHING that was included on the box, then they cannot (WILL NOT) honor the warranty, and will not proceed with the claim. ASSURION IS A SCAM! Buy the monitors, which outside of this lone issue, have been great, but do NOT buy the warranty!!!

First off this monitor has stunning detail and clarity in all regards. Text is bright, defined and easy to read. The Video on this monitor looks as good or better than it does on my 42 Samsung LED HD TV. The games I play also look better on this monitor than the other monitors I own (which include these 22 and 23 inch monitors. ViewSonic VA2246M, a HP 2159M and an Acer G236HL. The refresh rate at 60Hz could be better, and compared to an old school CRT it seems to slow frame rate a little more than I care for, but the frame rate was measured from a basic low end PC, with an Intel 2000 onboard graphics adapter, and can be resolved by a simple graphics card upgrade (with a GeForce 630 the frame rate is very acceptable for my purposes). The addition of an HDMI input is a nice addition and is a useful addition compared to other monitors in this price range. (HDMI/DVI/VGA and audio inputs are easily accessible). After setting this monitor up, and comparing it to the other monitors Im using. The color and detail, and contrast is what has really impressed me. At a price near the $160.00 mark, this monitor would seem to priced in the lower echelon of desktop monitors (let alone multimedia units). But its performance seems to reach well above other monitors in this price range. I did play with the color balance a little and it helped to create a more realistic palate when browsing photos and video. But right out of the box the colors were brighter, with more detail than on the other monitors Ive mentioned above. None of those monitors had the crispness in the whites, the deep blacks, or depth of color this monitor has, and none are even close after making a few minor adjustments in the monitors menu pannel. As with most monitors the panel of adjustments are easy to reach and use, and the Intel display adjustments allow for fast easy onscreen preview when adjusting this monitor (which did not require a great deal of tuning to satisfy my needs. In addition to the great color, detail and contrast, other options this monitor offers could make it attractive for many buyers. 1. The game mode option adjust contrast, and might or might not be something I use in the future, but its there and might come in useful. 2. The mounting options give the monitor some flexibility and at this size I could see mounting it on a wall for various uses. 3. Built in 2 watt SRS Audio might be attractive in many environments. 4 The weight, it is very lite for a 24 monitor which makes handling quick and easy. 5. Streaming Video from YouTube - Amazon Prime and Netflix on this monitor is as good as it gets. As I said the monitor looks as good or better than my Samsung HD TV. (unlike the other monitors I own this monitor re-creates a true HD experience. Im sure there are other things to consider, and these few might or might not be on everyones list, but at least a couple were on mine. Over all Not owning a monitor over $200.00 I cannot really compare this unit to one of the higher rated displays. But rating it at a monitor closer to $150.00 mark than the $200.00 price range I can say my initial reaction is that if your thinking about its a very good bet. The assembly should take maybe two minutes if your slow (meaning fast and easy). The resulting construction feels solid and it sits square without wobble on my desk. I did not try the speakers, since I have a set that I enjoy and at 2 watts the speakers were not a part of my purchasing decision. I was hoping for at least good color and detail and I believe that this monitor does an excellent job and surpasses my hopes in those regards. Even attached as a basic workstation monitor, this monitor expands the basic productivity that my other monitors provide in that regard. The actual display at 23.6 is large enough to create a smooth easy transition between multiple tasks... However this monitor goes far beyond a basic workstation unit and does a very good to excellent job in multimedia and gaming situations as well (matched with a PC designed for gaming I think it would be a very good choice as an entry level gaming monitor as well). Finally Im Extremely happy with this purchase, and would recommend it as a great choice for an everyday 24 display.

Received my ViewSonic VX2452MH 24-inch monitor today and after initially being disappointed and concerned, I have to say that I love the display. Few things to point out. 1- The stand feels a bit flimsy so be careful with it. 2- I purchased the AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable to go with the monitor since my Dell Studio XPS PC had an HDMI output. This is where I was disappointed. Once I had everything plugged in, I couldnt get the screen resolution right. The text was not sharp. It was kinda fuzzy no matter what website I was on. The desktop would not fill the whole screen even after playing with the screen settings and installing the correct drivers from the CD that came with it. Game Mode setting did not help at all. It just adjusted the brightness, contrast and colorization. I was so bummed out that I nearly packed the monitor back up to prepare for a return and refund. I tried one last thing before boxing it up. I hooked up the DVI cable that came with the monitor instead of the HDMI. Thats how the old monitor was hooked up so I gave it a shot. I removed the HDMI and then plugged in the DVI cable. HOLY COW what a difference!! The desktop filled the entire screen and everything looked nice and sharp. No fuzz. What a relief! So in case you have a similar problem with the HDMI hooked up, try the DVI cable instead. Very satisfied with the outcome. This monitor is excellent now. Very nice.

The picture overall is quite amazing. Had to set the brightness and contrast to 50 / 50 at set up because it was blinding when first turned on. The darks and brights are great. HOWEVER... there is a very annoying back light that beams through on the right side. Since I do a lot of graphic and video editing, I need t see everything for what it really is to properly do my editing and color corrections, etc. This will be useful as a side monitor to just use for side stuff but for a main monitor, not good for what I do. Update: Amazon is amazing! Called about the issue and in less than a minute they put in to ship for a replacement and was done! 2 days later got the replacement and the image is amazing. A great monitor! Amazon... thank you for the best customer service on the planet!!!
