> 24 hourIm very happy with this hard disk I use for backing up my computer. Ive had several similar devices in the past but this is simply the best! It comes with the options of saving in the Drop Box or in the device itself. The software that comes with the unit is very user friendly and specially with a VERY SIMPLE INTERFACE, easy to use and follow.

> 24 hourI read everything on this external drive before ordering it. I wanted an economical solution, and a fast one as well. So far it seems to be working just fine. I love the stainless metal cover (matches my laptop) and how quick it seemed to perform. I installed the software that comes with it, and set it up right away. I knew I needed a good backup and since my computer failed 5 times in 9 months (4 motherboards and 1 new hard drive later), I had to find not just a solution, but a good solution so I didnt have to worry about losing all my work. Email was the most important to me since its my paper trail with clients. I have email that goes back over ten years ago, and yes, Ive had to use it too. You wont regret this purchase. It is priced better than I expected, and arrived promptly. And worked right out of the box.

> 24 hourWorked Great for the first 4 months, then out of nowhere it started running a little slower, and a little slower, until one day when I tried to run a system check, it froze the computer up. I restarted the computer and then tried to reconnect the HD, but with no luck. The computer could not read the drive. I tried to run NOPIX and recover some of my more important files, and even though I can detect there is used space on the drive, I can not see or retrieve any information from it. I had never dropped the drive and had taken, what some might even describe as OCD-like, measures to ensure the drive was never mishandled or damaged but this issue has still occurred. Unfortunately, this was already after the return period.... It is now basically a $90 paperweight...

> 24 hourBought this for an expansion drive for my xbox one. Works great, doesnt make any noise, I point the led light towards the back and it doesnt bother me. Enough space to last me a good few years. Wouldnt think I would need more than 2tb for video games. Game loads pretty fast. Havent had any issues while playing any games for a really long time. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a external drive for the x1. It didnt seem like i really needed a hard drive with its own power supply. This will do!

> 24 hourOutside is sturdy with a good finish that cleans easily even thought its a textured surface. Solid construction and the cable connection is firm and has not worn out from being unplugged/replugged many times. Does not produce very much noise but it can get warm. The manufacturer could do one thing to improve this product. I like to store my movie library on my passport and I usually plug it into my laptop or smart TV and watch in a dark environment. The LED status light on the passport is too damn bright! the blinking is distracting in a dark room so I put a piece of tape over it, but I think a better design would be to dim the light a bit. Once had an issue with connecting to my laptop, it was not found by my device driver. I had to unplug/replug a few times and restart my computer before it would recognized. The issue has not repeated itself since that one time so I am not taking any starts off for that.

> 24 hourThis piece of technology is outstanding. Western Digital as a brand speaks for its own so I dont need to go over how good and reliable and easy to use their products are. I want to compliment the beauty of this drive. Im very sensitive to aesthetics and this hard drive has blown my mind: it is shiny yet metalized, very thin but sturdy. It is beautiful and works wonders. Absolutely recommended buy for anyone that was a beautiful object sitting by their computer the whole day.

> 24 hourThe Mac OS automatically corrects the format. Not made in Communist China. Made in Taiwan. Installation was a snap on my Mac. I just plugged it in, set my encryption password, and 30 seconds later it was ready to go. Excellent choice for Mac, Time Machine purposes. (Always encrypt your Mac hard drive, only takes about 30 seconds, and if someone steals your stuff, they have stolen a brick.) Using with OS 10.9.5 through OS 10.12.3.

> 24 hourI needed an external hard drive to store a high volume of photographs. I decided to purchase the WD 2TB Silver Passport Ultra Metal Edition and I have more than pleased with its performance thus far. I created 2 partitions so I would have two options of saving certain data to either of the created partitions. I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 and had to format the drive for Apples OS. This format was accomplished w/o any difficult and so was to partitioning...Its a well constructed drive with fast response. I have configured it to receive all my photo work (which I do in RAW which creates massive files) directly from Adobes Lightroom. Cosmetically is blends in well with my silver iMac. Very pleased I chose this model over some of the other Passport models that HP offers. And the price was more than fair considering the features and construction of the drive. Again, very pleased with this drive. Recommend w/o hesitation.

> 24 hourSuper fast and durable. Have dropped it about 10 times in the 3 months Ive had it and it still works great. ________________________________ Update (12/5/2016) So not long after I posted this above, the drive just failed. Just sitting on my desk unplugged it to change to another drive and changed back to this one and just started making a clicking sound. Only about 4 months old and drive failed. Could have been the read arm got hung inside or electronic failure inside. WD made it good and replaced it, but I lost over 250GBs of files, movies, music and pictures. Luckily I had another small, older HDD that I had backup of all my important files but lost hours upon hours of video backups and editing that I had did. I spent extra and got the metal edition for a reason and it still failed. Now have bought another drive to make a backup of this drive on a regular basis, and it is not WD. Will never buy WD again.

> 24 hourThis is the 6th of these WD Passports 3 and 4 TB that Ive purchased over the past 4 years. They work great, require no external power supply, run cool and look great. Buy them before they are gone because I understand they are much better than the new model.
