Works like the other WD drives I have. It has all that extra software on it, but you dont have to use it if you dont want to. It also has a proprietary connector on its cable. Not sure Im loving that--what if something happens to that wire? Anyway, Ive had great luck with this brand in the past and Im expecting the same here; I would recommend this product.

Excelente producto. Velocidad de copia y facilidad de uso. WD My Passport 2TB es una buena opción para hacer tus respaldos personales de una forma facil y eficiente. Tiempo de entrega excelente. No he tenido inconvenientes de ningún tipo. Trae preinstalado una copia de los programas de utilerias que perfectamente puedes borrar si deseas recuperar espacio en disco. Excellent product. Copy speed and ease of use. WD My Passport 2TB is a good option to make your personal backups in an easy and efficient way. Excellent delivery time. I have had no problems of any kind. It comes preinstalled with a copy of the utility programs that you can perfectly erase if you want to recover disk space.

Works as it should. Plugged it up to my PS4 and I had 1.84 TB to work with. Only thing they should have mentioned is that it heats up a bit.

The drive is working fine but there is an issue with the WD backup software. The software could not identify the drive as a backup target although Windows file explorer could see the drive. I contacted customer support via email and told them what I had already tried from their knowledge base. I got an email in return telling me to try exactly what I had already told them that I tried. I then called and was told that a recent Windows 10 update was preventing the WD backup software from working properly. They then educated me on how to use the Windows 10 file backup utility. Problem is there is no information on the internet or in the WD knowledge base on the Windows 10 update problem. I believe I was told this to just get me off the phone. I also did not receive any information on when this issue will be resolved if it really is the problem.

Great drive. Reasonably priced for a 2TB. I have 3 WD portable drives. They all work well and a couple have lasted several years. The difference between this one and the Ultra is backup software. I dont need it. I needed a good external drive for use with my PS4 and this one works well. But, youll have to reformat it for FAT or exFAT. PS4 wont recognize NTFS file system. These portable are great. I greatly prefer them to standard external hard drives. Theres no need for an external power source. It gets all its power through the USB port. This drive is USB 3.0. The performance is pretty good. Seems to maintain 100 MB/sec read and write speeds and higher depending on the file size. It can drop to close to 50-60 MB/sec for large file transfers. This drive is about as small as it can be and not terribly heavy. Its a great choice if you need some external storage. I trust Western Digital. Based on years of good experience with their products. I do not trust the other brand most typically compared to WD. I have had major problems with their drives.

I have used WD products for years with no problems. The setup is easy, and it just sits connected to my laptop and backs up data on a regular basis. Hint: Consider getting 1T more than you think youll need; those pics and videos add up fast.

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about this one. Over the years, Ive continued to upgrade my trusty, old laptop, swapping out memory, converting from spinning platter to SSDs, etc., so when I thought about back-up storage due to the recent rash of ransomware attacks, my first instinct was to invest in a portable SSD, but theyre still a little steep in terms of price per gigabyte. Therefore, I looked (somewhat reluctantly) into spinning platters. Im glad I did. I got this WD Passport (2TB) for a very reasonable price. OK, there was one hurdle overcome, but what about PERFORMANCE? Well, Im glad you asked. Once I got the drivers loaded on to my laptop so that it could interface with the hard drive, I transferred 65GB of files in one transfer and it took only a few minutes. I double-checked once the transfer was done and everything seems to be intact. Now, you cant treat these as cavalierly as a thumb drive or a pocket SSD, but it seems reasonably well-built and I got a shock-proof carrying case as well. Im quite content now that I have an encrypted vault for my most important files.

So far, so good. The drive works as expected! Very easy...plug in & youre all set. The proof in the pudding will be a year from now....well see.

Backing up your files takes a little longer than the more expensive drives but for the price its still a good buy.

Plugged it in and it works. Just to be sure, I ran various formatting and disk check tests to exercise the disk until I had 100 hrs on it, to weed out any early problems (infant mortality, its called in the reliability biz). I like the three-year warranty, but didnt want to commit my data until I felt confident in the drive. Im doing some extended travel and Im hauling this drive around with me as a back-up, and to hold my music and photo libraries that are too large for my laptop. This is my second My Passport from WD. It appears to be identical to the previous WD 2TB drive, except for the styling of the case. I dont like the sharp corners of this drive; the earlier version had more rounded corners. A minor point, but I will be packing and unpacking this drive (and the earlier one, as Im carrying both) pretty often, and the rounded corners are easier to handle. As compensation I got an Amazon Basics Hard Carrying Case. Provides some protection, and prevents things from snagging on the corners.

The My Passport Ultra is trusted, portable storage in a design that brilliantly pairs metal and matte finishes to create a sophisticated style. It has plenty of space to store all the content you love. Social media and cloud storage import, WD Backup software and password protection help keep all your memories safe and secure. Easy to use, just plug it in to start saving and backing up.
