Wimberley WH-200 Wimberley Gimbal Head II - Made in USA

This is a wonderful piece of equipment especially for taking pictures with a long lens in low light. Works so much better than a ball head. Should have purchased it a long time ago.

The Wimberley WH-200 was a great purchase. Very well made easy to setup and balance lens. Very smooth movement and steady as a rock.

The perfect camera tripod head. Not the most portable but certainly the best and cannot be beat for using a long lens. I also have the Really Right Stuff 55 ball head that works very well with shorter lenses.

Amazing how you can leave it in any position and it stays put, yet you are able to smoothly and quickly move it on to the next position. Or easily and quickly adjust tension making it harder to move. Balances perfectly with my following setup: Nikon D500 + Nikon 300mm F4 PF + Nikon TC-14Eiii

I was a little hesitant to purchase this because of the price. After using this for several months I cant believe that I hadnt purchased this until now. The smoothness in tracking wildlife with an 800mm lens isnt comparable to anything Ive used before. Precision product and incredibly well built. It is a real value at the price. I highly recommend to anyone looking to shoot wildlife or sports action with long lenses.

Solid piece of kit

As advertised, simply a wonderful gimbal head - super smooth movement in all 3 axis- very glad I bought it.

This is the gold standard of gimbal heads. Ive had a lot of cheaper gimbal heads on the way here and wish I had just saved up and started with Wimberley. Its like the tripod saga of the photo writer ByThom. You spend all that extra money working up to getting the Gitzo tripod when you would have been better off starting at the top. Other good brands Ive owned are Jobu Black Widow. This new version 2 is a great item and should last a lifetime. Wimberley often will have refurbished or scratch and dent items for sale from the factory. They also have a try before you buy a 60 day trail period. Give them your credit card and they will ship what you want to try. Dont like it send it back. Ive tried the clones and copies and the Induro and Benro are good but not this quality. If you have 6000 in a lens do you want to trust it to a knock off copy clone from China?

I’ve purchased a couple of other gimbals over the years and rented a couple of others. they all had issues, like being too stiff, or not locking down solidly. That is until I rented a Wimberley. That experience convinced me to buy one. I’ve not been disappointed! It is beautifully designed, incredibly smooth, and lens weight doesn’t cause it to sag. Save yourself some money searching for something better and buy the best the first time.
