> 24 hourIm using this with an Abus Cobra Loop Cable. I do live in a large city while a fairly high rate of bicycle theft, and so far my bike has not been stolen, so I guess its working. Though Im sure if someone really wanted my bike, they could get through it. Just note that this lock is pretty heavy and large. I wasnt able to find a good spot on my bike to mount it to. Also note that this does NOT come with a mount. I had to order one separately from overseas at the time, but then of course I ended up not using it. There is a bundle that comes with a mount, so if thats what you need, look for the bundle instead.

> 24 hourLock looks sturdy, I would have given a 5 star, but the key that has the light did not have the battery holder or battery. I would have to send the lock back, it wasn’t worth the time to send it back. I am happy with the lock.

> 24 hourTheres no foolproof or thief proof lock. Theres no foolproof or thief proof lock. Theres no foolproof or thief proof lock. This one is pretty close to both (just dont lose your key, fool).

> 24 hourA bit heavy and expensive, and the bracket was pricey, but when someone tried to cut through it with a hacksaw, they broke through the rubber exterior, scratched the steel core, and then gave up. About 5 tries around the lock with a saw, and no luck for the robbers. They blemished an otherwise very pretty lock, but thats all. Very pleased with the performance. Honestly, Im surprised they tried at all. To pick this thing up, it reeks of quality and high-end design. Doubles as a weapon. Im sure the right tool exists to cut it, but the sound it would make and the time it would take would make using such a tool challenging if not extremely difficult in any outdoor setting. This has now paid for itself.

> 24 hourWatched a review of e-bikes on YouTube about making your bike less desirable to thieves. They recommended ABUS as having really good locks. They stated that all locks can be overcome, but stated that this brand takes a lot more effort than most others. Purchased two of these locks, one for each of our bikes. This is a very heavy duty lock. It definitely will be difficult for someone to cut through this twice, in order to steal our bikes. The fit and finish of the lock is impeccable. This was a bit of a budget buster, so hopefully in the near future we can afford to purchase the matching chain locks.

> 24 hourIndustry standard. Slightly better security than the other brand but not that much better for the higher price. I think they need to contact NASA to develop a material to resist diamond saws and high-leverage cutters. GPS locators and alarms probably would be better.

> 24 hourI dont know what is going on with Amazon these days, QC is in the toilet. Seems like 30% or more of my purchases need to be returned, either because they are more than lightly used, damaged, or just poor quality. I got this lock and it was obviously used, and quite damaged. I returned it immediately, of course, and ended up buying one (for full retail, quite a bit more expensive, like an extra $75) at a local bike shop, which carried Abus, but had to order this model. I guess I could have reordered one and hoped it worked out the second time, but I lost patience. The lock itself is great, probably the best U-lock made, period, but certainly the best at this weight. No bolt cutter is going to get through this thing. Of course, thieves in big cities use angle grinders, which will cut through this, but at least it will take a few minutes and make a bunch of noise. I would give 5 stars for the lock, and 1 star for the terrible amazon experience - and I am getting so sick of getting used and damaged stuff, or the wrong product from amazon I have started looking for stuff at brick and mortar stores again, and would rather pay the premium then have to keep returning things to Amazon, or trying to fix things myself. On-Guard makes great locks also, and Kryptonite makes one equal to this (but thicker - 14mm vs 13mm - and heavier, though a bit less expensive) as well as the NY line, which is even tougher, but at 16mm, very, very heavy. I also have an Abus 9mm hardened steel chain lock, which I really like. I use either the chain or the U-lock with a cable to secure the other wheel (although cables are easy to cut, seems hardly worth it to a thief just for a wheel set, but I guess on a slow day, they will do it).

> 24 hourI have been very happy with it so far. I have a hard time understanding why a person would want the 12 version unless locking multiple bikes though.
