Not much in this area on reviews on this monitor, so just want to say I plugged it in, Powered up my MacMini and was amazed. I can see details in the shadows in brightly lit pictures. The colors are vibrant. There is a headphone jack on the back so I guess it has sound, my speakers are plugged into my computer. I did use a HDMI cable to connect, but it did come with a vga cable included. I didnt know what I was missing. This is the 23.8 version and for the money, I feel I got a great buy. I am a cheapo about some items and I dont get carried away on monitors. Ever. So, for the money, this is a really good buy. Hmmmm, now to figure out how to turn down the brightness a bit. ADDITION: So Ive been using this for a couple of days now. I work from home and use a computer to accomplish my job. I had no idea how much I was missing. First of all, I figured out how to turn down the brightness, and it wasnt rocket science but secondly the picture and text are so clear, vibrant, easy to read, rich, a pleasure to view... what else can I say about viewing stuff on a computer that I saw every day but without the detail that I can see now. Wow, I was missing a lot and didnt even know it. Yeah, Im liking this a lot. I know its new and have no clue how long it will last, but Im happy for now.

Needed another monitor for my job and once again Acer has met my expectations. I have 2 other monitors, one in 4K and the other 1080p, but the difference between the two is subtle enough to where 1080p is completely fine. The main thing I like about this monitor specifically is the price.

I bought this Monitor Dec 13, 2015 and am still using it on my main daily computer and its working great! Its sturdy. I do play video games but not on PC so I dont know if this would be good for gaming? It displays the little arcade type games I do play, very nicely. Ive had no problems or issues with this Monitor & am pleased with it

Despite the backlight bleeding, I have really enjoyed using this monitor. I use it for personal digital content creation, gaming at 1080p 60hz,and general PC browsing. The low-blue setting is easy on the eyes for extended work sessions. For the price, youd be hard pressed to find a comparable product. It is not a professional monitor, but a great PC monitor Id recommend to more casual gamers or freelancers on a budget. Thin bezel, good looks, sharp screen, great IPS viewing angles, decent color reproduction, and all the inputs I need (1x each VGA, DVI, and HDMI). Plus it has an HDMI 3.5mm audio out for headphones or speakers which is a nice feature , though i use my onboard digital output. Response times are a gray area (pun intended) and advertised response times often have little credibility. the gray-to-gray Ive experienced using blender and watching movies is great. very little ghosting. Again, its not top of the line so if you look really hard youre going to find it. No smart features so there is no noticeable input lag. The user menu leaves something to be desired, but it is functional. Just dont buy it expecting perfection for the price-tag. notice its 27 cousin listed on the same page is much more expensive. If i had to guess, the backlight bleed exceeded their tolerances for the high-end model it was supposed to be. Shows how much pride Acer takes in their monitors. No dead pixels. BTW, I have noticed a reduction in backlight bleeding and auto-detect times when using HDMI as opposed to the included VGA. HDMI registers first in the auto-detect, then dvi, then VGA FYI. I hope this was a helpful review.

I bought two of these monitors a few weeks ago and theyve been pretty great so far (aside from one issue which is described below). The best part in my opinion is the the thin bezel which is accurately depicted in the pictures above. In case anyone was wondering, the bezel (including the part of the screen that doesnt display any picture) is about 1/4 (7/32 to be precise). I was worried about the base not being stable when I bought the monitors, but the monitors are actually surprisingly stable. The main reason Im writing this review is to warn people about the backlight bleeding that is present on both of the monitors I received. The pattern of the backlight bleeding is exactly the same on both of the monitors, which leads me to believe that I didnt just get unlucky. Under normal circumstances, the image quality is great. However, if theres a dark image on the screen and Im in a dark room (when watching a movie for example), the backlight bleeding is very apparent on the two upper corners of the screens. This isnt a huge issue for me since I usually have a light on in the room, but Im sure it might bother some people. This seems like a pretty common issue on budget IPS monitors, so I wouldnt rule this monitor out unless you find a monitor that you know for sure doesnt have this same issue.

Gorgeous picture and great product. Exactly as described. Can’t be mounted on an arm though without a special adapter that is pretty much impossible to find. Even for models one number off, the adapters won’t work. Might be able to Jerry-rig something from the current stand but haven’t gotten that far yet. Not sure it’s worth it. Better to just search for a VESA compatible monitor and cut my losses.

At first the monitor was great. I loved the big screen, it seemed to be of good quality. I got it all hooked up on 1-3-16 and by 7-29-16 I had 2 red lines running through the monitor. I contacted Acer and they said Id have to ship it off to repair. Ugh, okay, not enthused about that, but at least its under warranty. Oh, by the way, YOU have to pay the shipping to get it reapired. Kay, so I believe in being peaceful, and behaving like any Christian should, with patience and understanding. Ive NEVER, NEVER been nasty to people in customer service even when I want to be. Well. . .I lost it with Acer and I turned into the wicked witch of the west over their you-have-to-pay-your-own-shipping-policy. Excuse me, if something goes wrong while its under warranty its YOUR responsibility to fix it. YOU ARE going to give me a shipping label. I shouldnt have to pay for a manufacturers problem. I won. They agreed to give me a shipping label, but when I went to print the shipping label off about 30 hours later, (I was busy the previous day, didnt have time to check my e-mail) the shipping label and tracking number was canceled. They canceled the label! So, moodier and nastier than before, I contacted them about that and let them have it. So they issued ANOTHER shipping label. I printed it. Had to go out and buy bubble wrap for my product (Which cost $17.00) and FINALLY I dropped it off at a Fed-Ex location. They received it, gave me e-mail updates on how it was going. They sent me an e-mail saying Your computer has been repaired and has been prepared for shipment. You will receive another eMail containing the shipping tracking number. Great, its been repaired! But, shouldnt they have written monitor not computer? Oh, well, whatever, its repaired. Yippee! I received it 5 days later with a letter stating, We are returning your product to you non-repaired because it was deemed a potential health issue. There is evidence that the product that was sent in for service has been damaged by a substance that may pose a health risk to our repair technicians and as such cannot be repaired by the manufacturer. Oh, but, If you are interested in purchasing a replacement unit, please contact such-and-such-email and a representative will contact you with pricing information. You effin bas***** I called them up immediately and YELLED at poor little Spanish Mary. What the heck do you deem a potential health issue? Dust? Cat hair? Windex? I didnt drop the dang thing in a nuclear pool! I told her I cant keep shipping this back and forth, its uneconomical for both of us and you better as he!! repair it. So she opened a new case and said she would e-mail me a shipping label and I could send it back off for repair. Well, guess what? That shipping label never showed up. If youre looking for a monitor, honestly, I would recommend going with an HP. Ive had to call HP up twice in the past month and their customer service has been far more outstanding than Acer. My printer had a print-head error, so they sent me a refurbished printer, gave me the instructions on putting the old printer in the same box my new one came in. Gave me a shipping label. They made it so easy and supplied everything. And then to make a long story short they gave me a free set of black and color ink due to some catridge problems I was having. Id trust HP to repair my monitor if something went wrong; Acer does nothing. Its a good thing I fought for the shipping label because I would have been out more than $17.00. I cannot tell you to not buy this monitor, but if you decide youre going to because its affordable and it has more good reviews than bad, keep in mind that with any purchase youre taking a gamble, especially with Acer products. If ANYTHING goes wrong, chances are remote that you will actually get the problem resolved. If they dont give you a shipping label the way they gave me one, and then if they ship it back to you non-repaired, youve just thrown $40-$50 away, if not more because there is absolutely no guarantee theyll fix your product when they receive it. Youll be better off buying a new monitor. For me, the stress isnt worth it. I gave up, which Im sure is what they want me to do. Im sad my nice, new monitor is going to be put away in storage and only used now for emergencies, (the red lines running through the monitor isnt the end of the world, but it is slightly irritating). While the monitor was off to repair my brother was kind enough to give me one of his old Dell monitors. Its pretty old, and you know what? It works great. I really like this monitor. The product when it worked was really nice, it was. I would have given it five stars. And I understand that everything comes from crap-a$$ China now. I know youre inevitably going to get bad stuff so I can deal with faulty hardware. Had I gotten the monitor back repaired it would have received a 3 or 4 star rating, but it was the customer service--or lack there of!--that really, really gets the 1 star because 0 isnt an option. Theres 0--Zero customer service. So like I said, if you buy it, keep in mind that if anything goes wrong Acer will not be there to help you. Youre on your own with this one.

I cannot speak for gaming, but for a home office I think these are great! My only complaint is they did not come with the hdmi cables.

My son bought me a monitor like this last year. I loved it so much that I bought one for the office I work at. It was a GREAT deal when I bought it at $99.00. Very nice quality.
