The screen would only come on when the top or side of screen was gently tapped or squeezed and that was only randomly. Something was obviously wrong with the laptop from the factory. From reading reviews several people have had problems with black screens either they never came on or they come on and go off.

The Acer Chromebook was easy to get started on right out of the box. I was surprised to see that the power cable connects to a micro-USB port, which is different than any laptop I’ve ever owned. I got this so my son (age 4.5) could visit some educational websites and learn to use a computer. He caught on really quickly, partly because he’s used to how a tablet works. The Chromebook doesn’t have a desktop, just a bar at the bottom where you can pin apps. I wish there was a way to enlarge the app icons – they’re too small to distinguish in some cases. I love that I can pin the apps my son can use, and hide the others (eventually he’ll figure out how to see all apps, but he’s fortunately not there yet lol). The battery lasted about four hours from a full charge, but he was watching videos and playing interactive games so it might last longer for someone who uses it just for email and surfing the internet. Great product for people who don’t need a lot of apps or for computer novices.

I will never buy from this seller again. The laptops mouse felt off but I ignored it since it is refurbished. I used it for a zoom meeting a month later and the mic sounds like I am underwater and makes a random high pitched sound. I complained to the seller about this and they said sorry. Nothing they can do. I wanted to return it since it is clearly defective and again sorry no. No customer service. How Amazon allows them to sell products on here is beyond me. Stay away.

Good value

I purchased and returned several before I tried this one. This has everything. Backlit keys, touch screen, decent sounding speakers, large bright HD screen. I used it for college, and now I am done college I use it for leisure. It does everything I need it to do. Ive had it a year and its still going strong. The battery lasted all day in my college classes. So light and easy to carry for such a large device. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it.

Ill be honest, I dont know a lot about specs, megagertz or hertz or whatever, technical stuff. So here is a 57 yo woman who just got it out, plugged it in, and made it work. Usually I have my son or husband set things up but I wanted to see if I could do it, because believe me, if I can, you can.

The device has excellent build quality. The metal case is firm and gives a confident heft to the device without being too bulky.

Im pretty happy with this. I needed something to carry around for when Im working remotely and this fits the bill. For the price, I doubt theres anything better out there! The screen quality is excellent in comparison to other Chromebooks Ive used. The machine itself is quick, stores charge well, and hasnt shown any processing issues.
