If youre deciding to buy or not like I was, here are few points. This is not an A/C. Dont expect it to cool of room or make ski slope snow. It is personal desk fan. Once you accept that, you can decide if you want it. I like it and Im not disappointed. First let say that evaporative cooling is a myth. It does exist in theory, but in real life is totally inefficient. What you get is a mini humidifier and desk fan with the added benefit of vapor mist. The vapor mist is the part to experiment with. Freezing the filter did not show any help. Keeping it wet is just fine. The reason is that in hot room ice melts right before your eyes. That also applies to water in the reservoir. Standing water warms up rather quick in a hot room and defeats the cooling idea. So the solution that seem to help is filling the reservoir with just enough water to keep it from running dry. Maybe quarter of the tank or less, and keep adding ice instead of water. Seating in front of fan in hot weather feels good, and keeping the water cold makes cooler breeze. You can also put little bottle cap with scent inside the unit and have room freshener. My favorite is peppermint oil. I run it at low since the fan is noisy on high setting and I want just a breeze, not a tornado. When it becomes really hot I turn on A/C, but for spring weather that fluctuates from hot to cold this thing is just fine.

Although it is not a a/c unit ,it does a great job blowing cool air.a touch better than a fan, it has surprised me by doing much more.

I bought this to aid in cooling down an extremely small bedroom - cannot fit more than a queen sized bed and two nightstands in it, only to shimmy yourself around to get to the bathroom - because the summer heat in Arizona is cray cray. Loved that it would be delivered same day (Metropolitan area for the win!). Had this little baby in 2 hours or less - and immediately opened it to set it up in said bedroom. Instructions suggest cartridge to be frozen. Well, that was a bummer; looks like I had to wait (story of my life). I soaked the cartridge, according to directions, and placed into freezer. Everything was ready for prompt usage in the am. Next morning, I woke up, did my shimmy shimmy around the bottom of the bed, and in a blink of an eye, fed the cats and made my coffee. I took the cartridge out of the freezer and inserted it into my new Artic Air Godsend. Turned it on, and waited for the cool blast that would signal the end of hell itself....and waited....and waited......nothing. Sure, it was cool, sure there was a faint trickle of air escaping the vents, but nothing like advertised; I think I breathe harder walking to the front door. I thought, maybe its just in the wrong place...after all, isnt it all about location location location? I placed the Artic Air so the air flow would be directed across the bed. And waited again (I think you can see a pattern emerging here). Still nothing. Then I remembered...Good Things Come To Those Who Wait.....I left the room, watched an episode of Enterprise (worse theme song ever! I WILL fight you on that) and returned with renewed hope. Nothing changed. I could see condensation forming on the vents so knew it had some temperature change but it definitely did not change the temperature in the room. I even thought it may have just needed a little help, after all, we get by with a little help from our friends, right? I placed a fan next to it, to give it a little more umphh, and STILL NOTHING!!!!! My heart sank, for the devil himself would be hard pressed to remain in this room during the day. In conclusion, this is not a buy I would recommend - save yourself the grief and buy a window AC unit. I know I am.

Tldr: its just a fan that doesnt blow hot air on a hot night. cool air, not freezing on tap water. Put a bottle in the tank to make it last longer than 3 hours. I have a 1 sq feet room. On a usual night around summer time my room is hot and humid enough to build sweat on the body part laying on the bed. It takes about 1 hour of cold tap water to lower the room temp enough so I dont sweat on the bed but I still feel kind of sticky. The seller claims that the product can shoot a water mist for 10 hours but in 1 hour on high mist it has already used up 1/3 of the water tank. Even if I set it to low mist I highly doubt it would last 10 hours. Thats why I put a bottle in the tank to supply water by cutting a half inch hole on the side of the cap. Now thats 10 hours! Its also a bad idea to step out of the room since it immedeality resets the cooling process, 1 hour wasted. So if you gotta pee or you farted too much, turning your room into a room of death... suffer or stay cool. The choice is yours.... well. I mean you can always point the air at yourself for maximum effect which ultimately keeps you cool throughout the usage but I dont like having an air flow at me when Im sleeping, I always wake up with a headache. I give it 3 stars because it does work but its not mind blowing. perfect if youre a cheapskate and you dont mind being a little sticky.

Upon first use, I found the unit easy to use without reading the directions. I would suggest distilled water to keep down contaminants. It does what it says I am well pleased with the unit overall. The only thing in the description that I was a little mislead to think it had a built in battery pack so you could use it just about anywhere. Cant give 5 stars for that reason. If you want to take this camping and use inside your tent or over your hammock I would suggest an external portable power pack for the unit then you would be golden. Overall I am impressed know the design is based on a swamp cooler which works better in higher humid areas than areas with low humidity. Southern states and states like AZ will find this unit great to use, Northern states may not get the same results. But was well worth the investment! Even small enough to pack away in a backpack if I want!

Never had a problem yet with the mechanics of the cooler and really does cool the area pretty good. It does condensate or leak a little bit but that could be because you are suppose to freeze the cartridge before use and when you put it in a unconditioned space, like I did (garage), it will inevitably leak. Other then that it works great!

Cute, Compact design, uses a large computer fan to blow air. So if you don’t mind sitting next to your desktop computer while you sleep… otherwise after reading the other reviews the water tank is small.

My sons bedroom is a converted attic, which gets pretty hot in the North Carolina summer. I thought this might be an economical way to cool down his study area. It was economical, but it doesnt work as well as wed hoped. To get maximum coolness, you have to freeze the filter, and the coolness really doesnt last. Honestly, youd probably get better results running a fan over a pie plate filled with ice cubes.
