BN-LINK Smart Wi-Fi Plug Outlet, Remote Control by App, Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, Weatherproof, Requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, ETL Listed

This was so easy. We have Smart WIFI indoor outlets from BN-Link, and use those all the times. Glad my daughter suggested one for our outdoor Christmas lights. We usually are home to turn them on and off. However, on the occassion when we are arriving at our home and it has turned dark - we like to see our Christmas lights all lit up over the house. Why should the neighbors be the only ones to enjoy the lights? I already had the app installed on my phone to control the indoor outlets, so this particular outlet was easy to add. I just set a daily schedule to turn on around 4:45-5:15 (depending on the month) and then to go off at certain times during the week and a little later time on weekends since that is when we are typically out and about.

I wanted a plug that would cycle my pool cover pump for 5 minutes every hour when it started raining. The instructions that came with this device are worthless for doing this and the App wording is not intuitive but they have good tech support. First, I had to reset my dual band mesh router to appear as separately named bands so the plug could find the 2.4 channel. When I did this the first time I renamed them xxx2.4 and xxx5.0. That was stupid as all my wireless devices now needed to be relinked. After doing a couple, I realized I could use the old network name for the 2.4 and I wouldnt have to relink everything. To get the plug to cycle for 5 minutes each hour you dont use the Schedule. You choose Timer, then Circulate. This was the confusing part. The start time and end type are the times you want to work within. Start Duration is the amount of time you want the plug ON (e.g. 5 minutes). The End Duration is the time it stays off until the next on cycle. They would have been better worded as On Duration and Off Duration. Once this is setup and saved, you can toggle the Circulation feature on and off. This is so much better than my old plug where I had to setup 24 Ons and 24 Offs. And each time it rained, I had to enable all the Ons, and disable them when it stopped raining. You have no idea how long ive been trying to find a smart plug that would do this.

Although each outlet can be controlled individually by the Smart Life App, if you want to turn on ONE device, but not the other, manually, with out using the app, you cant. The power button top of the device powers both off...or on. So, if you have one device turned off, and one one, and you hit the power button on the outside of the device, you will be controlling both. I have a couple of other WIFI outlets like this and it is INCONVENIENT. I suggest you look for the devices that have two external power buttons. I forgot about this limitation, bought this one...but it is going back. Sorry BN-Link!

Used to control heating cables on my roof. Worked perfectly. Both outlets can be seperatly controlled...nice.

I own a few BN-Link products. One had a problem. I worked with Steven and Dianna. They learned and understood my problem and resolved it post haste. I am very pleased with BN-Links customer service.

I use this outdoors on my smoker. I wait for the full shutdown on the smoker then tell Alexa to turn off the smoker.

Very easy to set up and use. As advertised.
