An old time favorite of mine from about 25 years ago. Exactly the same movie I saw then, and not the play version. I love it. Thank you.

Neil Simon is one of the greats and this explains why. He wasnt as prolific as Woody Allen but he hits it out of the ball park every single time. He was an innovator and ahead of his time with this piece--utilizing techniques of straight to camera and faux documentary that we take for granted now. Ive seen this a dozen times and it never loses its humor, poignancy and a certain sad nostalgia for a bygone era that is done without an ounce of sentimentality. The key scene between Blanche and her daughter Nora is dead on now and probably will be forever, because great writing transcends time. These are people experiencing the basic human things we all experience and that is what makes Simon one of the greats.

Hey This movie is a gas. Not many of us remember WWII or any of the storys that go with these war years. This is a tail about an American Family with Family in War torn Poland. Its a Great Story with plenty of laughs. Its all about family, hey we dont always like them but we always love them. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Growing up in Brooklyn in the 1930s. A teenaged boys anxiety to get older makes a great story. Comedy, and touching moments make this a good one. Great movie by Neil Simon.

Life is definitely never dull with seven people living under the same roof Have enjoyed this movie for years watching it on TV whenever it was on... but has not been on TV for a long time now so was time to buy the DVD. Found no problems with the DVD at all, good quality for older film redone in Anamorphic Widescreen to fill the widescreen TV nicely without zooming in

I love this movie. It is humorous and shows a much simpler time. Also I definitely see where Ferris Beuller may have taken some techniques from this movie such as the main charachter talking to the audience.

One of my favorite all-time movies. Had it at one time. It disappeared. Needed another one. Can watch it over and over.

Neil Simon’s movie version of the play is nostalgic, funny, sometimes a bit raw, and witty. Growing up teetering on the edge of financial ruin caused Neil Simon to find humor in pain and loss. This movie reveals the family dynamic and love with deft comic touches. Memorable.

This was our first viewing of the three Neil Simon Trilogies based on his life. My wife and I greatly enjoyed it. We watched it the first time in the privacy of our home without anyone else with us. When we took it to some lady friends home to share it with them, The 60 year old was offended by some of the subject matter, but overall enjoyed it we think, and the other friend in her who is 69 really enjoyed it and laughed most of the way through the movie. I gave it a four star instead of the five I really wanted to give it, because the movie does have some subject matter that is of human nature but yet offensive to some people. For that reason, I would not recommend it to be viewed by small children or youth.

received move quickly, movie works great and I have nothing that I dont like, so thank you.

Fifteen-year-old Eugene Jerome is desperately trying to uncover life"s mysteries, but his family keeps hiding the clues. Even so, he manages to keep his priorities - baseball and girls - firmly in order throughout Neil Simon"s hilarious adaptation of his Broadway hit about growing up in Brooklyn during the late 1930"s.Life is definitely never dull with seven people living under the same roof. Dad works two jobs to make ends meet, older brother Stanley is eager to dispense sage advice, and Aunt Blanche tries to cope as a single parent.Brighton Beach Memoirs is a wonderful, semi-autobiographical comedy with heart, wit and hysterical insights into family life and growing up - just a little off-center.
