    Came well packaged, so no damage. Fits my camera well. Has auto-focus and image stabilizing as advertised. Very happy with this used purchase. Has produced some very nice photographs.

    If youve never used a lens with an infinite focus throw, this is something that will take a little bit of getting used to. And it can only be focused when the camera is on, so if you cant focus through the viewfinder while your camera is off, dont worry. For some reason, there was serious vignetting going on at 250mm, but I fixed it easily by going into EOS utility and registering the lens for peripheral illumination correction on my T3i.

    Solid lens from Canon and shoots very nice photos with great quality. Im not sure it seems to shoot as far as other 250mm lens Ive seen but it takes very good photos from a distance. The twist mechanism is flawless and smooth with nice clear markings and indicators on the body.

    I just received this and am a beginner. If you put your DSLR camera on automatic then youll have no problem. I guess my comment is more about how this lens compares with the 18-55 mm lens in terms of how easy it is to use. From a value for dollar POV - impossible to beat. The Image stabilization feature is definitely worth the extra cost. And I was able to bring high rise buildings that were about 5 miles in the distance into enough focus that you can make out the lights in the various rooms.

    Bought this lens for our Yellowstone and Tetons trip. I was able to zoom in so much better than my 18x135mm. It brought the mountains and wildlife up close and personal. Definitely worth the money for a weekend photographer like myself.

Compact and lightweight with Optical Image Stabilizer for up to 3.5* equivalent stops of shake correction, it extends the camera"s reach significantly, capturing sharp images of far away objects, even when handheld. It features Canon"s amazing STM stepping motor and a newly designed high-speed CPU, rear focus mechanism and improved AF algorithm for high-speed performance, supporting Canon"s Movie Servo AF for smooth, quiet and continuous focus adjustments. The EF-S 55–250mm f/4–5.6 IS STM lens features one UD lens element that reduces chromatic aberration, helping to achieve excellent image quality with high resolution and contrast.
