> 3 dayIt lasted a couple of years. I got error lights that said the cartage was not loaded correctly. I gave up trying to clear and bought a hp 1010.

> 3 dayI bought this printer from Walmart for about $30 or so. Canon did a terrible job with this printer! It does print, and it can print some nice photos - not top quality but decent and usable. Its not really fast, but its not horribly slow. One thing to note - it has a design flaw - there is only one side of the paper tray that has a feeding mechanism and its faulty. It complains it has no paper constantly and may print crooked if not babysat. If I had more money at the time, I wouldnt have bought this printer, I would have purchased a different brand or a different model. The saying applies here - you get what you pay for. Ive had it for about a year and Im tired of fighting with it. I hate this printer!

> 3 dayI have a B&W workhorse laser (HP) and didnt use this printer much except for a few color prints once in awhile. If I had, I probably would have run into the feeder issue a lot sooner like many people out there. However, under such little use, it took 11 months for the Feeder Failure to appear. The feeder starts grabbing just the right side only and jams the paper. You can try cleaning it, but it doesnt work. You can Google it and gauge about what stage the printer begins to do this for people--but my guess is about 100 -200 feeds. I got this printer free, but Im still a little disappointed Canon put out a defective printer. The features werent great, it was a middle of the road printer, a bit slow, cheap plastic, expensive ink, etc, but as far as I can tell a very inexpensive purchase price for what you get, which probably explains why they only offered a 90 day warranty: it was made to get past the 90 day mark only.

> 3 dayMy old printer died and I had a lot of ink cartridges for it. I am so glad I found a compatible printer for the cartridges and the printer works like a dream! And the price was reasonable!

> 3 dayIve mostly used this printer for the last few years of college; alot of text, color powerpoints, etc. but not so much full-size color photos. I agree it is a bit of an ink sucker but I have found you can get quite a bit of mileage from the cartridges after the low warning comes on. I keep a new cartridge handy and dont replace until it physically runs out. The occasional reprint is worth it to me because of how many more jobs I can get out of it that way. Other than that, the printer has held up beautifully to a few years of active use and I have no complaints about style, function, or features. A good overall printer, I think, if youre not photo-heavy and willing to max the cartridge.

Greater than one weekGreat little printer for the money, but the cartridges do not last very long. They offer larger cartridges, but theyre pretty expensive too. When I went back to the store to get more ink cartridges, I realized that buying a new printer (which comes with cartridges and a small pack of photo paper) was about $4 less than buying the replacement cartridges. I felt a little guilty since its such a waste of resources (environmentally speaking), but thats Canons stupid fault for pricing things the way they have. Do they really think were not going to notice that the replacement ink cartridges cost more than we paid for the printer? Corporate America doing what it does best...wasting money. Had the two cartridges cost $25, I would have saved myself five bucks and gone on with my life. So I reluctantly bought another printer for $30 instead of paying $34 for the two little replacement cartridges. How could I not? That said, Im not the type to keep buying printers and putting them in closet or throwing them in the dumpster, so Ill be looking for an alternative soon, preferably from another company...but for the meanwhile, this one does the job just fine. Its just the principle that puts me off. Everything about the printer is great...looks awesome sitting next to my iMac too.

> 3 dayNeeded a decent printer after TWO Lexmark Wally World cheapies refused to work after a while. I just wanted to print out my tax returns and stuff. The Canon was easy to use and setup. Just hope the ink cartridges dont dry up. I keep them in a glassine (dope) sealed bag, with a wet piece of paper. Hope this works. OK printer so far....

Greater than one weekMine worked for a while . . . but now the photo stock wont feed at all, and the only message I get is Paper out! Load paper and press resume button. Even though there are 20 sheets of photo stock in the hopper. Update: I adjusted the number of sheets in the hopper and got it to work. Not sure what the optimum number of sheets is - perhaps close to full (1/2 inch space)?

> 3 dayMy old Lexmark inkjet finally wore out, so I did some research to find a highly rated, low cost replacement. The Canon Pixma iP2600 is easy to set-up and printed documents are excellent quality. As someone else mentioned, ignore the rater who complained about printed pages falling to the ground; they obviously failed to extend the support arm. Only complaint is that the USB cord isnt included (used the one included with my Canon scanner). Otherwise, Im very pleased with the purchase.

> 3 dayI purchased this printer and it stopped working after three months. Great timing since my warranty expired after a month or so. I took it to a repair shop and found it could not even be fixed because the AC adapter unit inside was faulty. I ended up throwing away a $50 printer, time, and money. Amazon was no help due to the warranty expiration. Research more carefully and youll be happier.
