Classic Messenger Bag - Durable, Water-Resistant, fits 13, 15, 17 Laptop

This may be the most functional bag I have ever purchased. I take it with me on every bike ride. The easily adjustable straps make filling it up and hopping on the bike so easy! I can pack so much into it, too! It is sturdy, and looks so darn cool.

This is a robust, well made bag that just doesnt quite make sense. To me, the whole point of having a shoulder bag is to be able to easily access the contents without having to take the bag off. I also want to be able to carry it at my side for this purpose. And the Timbuk2 Messenger sort of succeeds, but not very well. I really, really wanted to like it. I love how it looks and I love how its built. But if Im going to carry this bad boy, I feel like I might as well just get a backpack instead. Here are my issues:

The water bottle pockets in the interior are really small. Maybe they are expecting people to use two very small water bottles, one on each side, to balance the weight? It doesnt come close to fitting my preffered bottles. I also wish there was a pocket accessible from the outside without needing to unbuckle the whole thing. Still, this is mostly a good product for my purposes and I appreciate the water-resistant interior.

Love love love this bag, its durable and easy to carry! I am a SF native and work at the VA in two locations, I got the (M) bag, I was kind of scard that it wasnt going to fit all my belongings that I carry on a day to day basis...

So far its great. Small size keeps me from putting too much in it. Has quite a few pockets and interior holding areas. It seems to hold more than a lot of bulkier bags because it doesnt have tons of padding material and dividers. Ive easily has a surface pro 3, iPad, and 2 binder along with all my chargers and stuff. It was full but not crazy.

Timbuk2 does n amazing job of customer service. Not only do they back your product but your service folks could not be anymore accommodating.

Its even better than I was imagining, I have a larger timbuk2 messenger that is 8 yrs old and I still use it ~ this small size is perfect for traveling with my carry-on.

This bag replaced my previous Timbuk2 medium messenger that was about 5 years old. I upgraded because I wanted the newer design that helps keep water out of the top edges of the bag when closed. After 5 months of daily use as a student, both cycle commuting and driving, the bag performed beyond my expectations. The ability to fold the corners in keeps the inside of the bag dry in light to moderate rain. The larger shoulder strap pad is very comfortable, even with a full load including a textbook. The newer version of the old cam-buckle takes some getting used to, and I can’t really get the “one handed” operation to work as Timbuk2 demonstrates, at least when the bag is actually filled. The cordura is much lighter than the previous ballistic nylon and is holding up nicely despite the abuse of daily life.
