Dakine Baja Surf Tie Down Straps 12Ft

Consider a different material for the buckle instead of metal, had to be careful it didn’t damage the car.

We live in Hawaii and are routinely strapping boards and kayaks to our car. That are the best of any strap weve used, so when we needed another set for our other vehicle, I didnt research at all. I just found these and purchased them again.

These are the third set of tie down straps I have purchased to secure my kids surfboards to the top of my SUV, and by far these are the easiest to use! The clamps are very secure once you tighten them, and the neoprene like casing around the clamps keep them from scratching our car or our boards. Very good design.

Ich habe schon viele Spanngurte benutzt und diese erfüllen alles zu 100%. Fest, kräftig genug und dehnen sich bei Nässe kaum aus. Als Surfer perfekt um meine Bretter sicher und ohne Schäden auf dem Dach vom Transporter zu transportieren.

Im *SO* confused. I have been using Dakine straps for at least 10 years. These are the WORST straps I have ever used. The straps constantly come loose in the cams, allowing my surf board to wiggle all over the place. I have to do an entire gymnastics routine to get them tight enough. I cant for the life of me figure out why these are so different than my previous Dakine straps. Seriously these are horrible. Sadly I was out of the return period before I could use them so Im stuck with them. :-( Will unfortunately be switching brands and being a new pair.

Its definitely a more durable strap than the previous versions. Its also much weightier than the 1 width straps which is kind of a bummer since it takes up more space in my luggage for overseas travel. If I had to do it all over again, I would have purchased the 1 width original version for travel. This would be better to use locally since I strap up to 4 surfboards and dont have a roof rack on my car.

Works as advertised

Especially after being cold and tired from surfing. Also Id opt for the shorter straps, its annoying to have too much extra.
