The photos are one sock from each pair, after one wear in a brand new pair of boots. $19 a pair and they’re absolute trash. I’m not sure if the wholesaler bought a bad batch and is trying to sell them off, or if Darn Tough isn’t what it used to be. Either way, inspect your socks very carefully! This is unacceptable quality for any product but especially at this price

08-06-2025I was constantly buying my husband socks as he would wear holes in the toe or heal of the socks. I bought his first pair of Darn Tough socks over two years ago. I have yet to see a thin spot let alone a hole anywhere in the socks. He likes the 1/4 socks for summer and the regular ones for winter.

We live and work in Northfield, Vermont. Our backyard is the perfect testing ground to make the finest Premium All Weather Performance Socks. We ski, snowboard, hike, bike and run in the most unforgiving climate in the lower 48. It is under these conditions that we design, test and manufacture our socks.

After so many decades why do we still knit every pair of our socks here in Vermont? We don’t do it because it’s the easy thing to do—we do it because it’s the right thing to do.
