Genuine GORILLA-LIFT 2-Sided Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist

This was fairly easy to install with the right tools. Watch the YouTube video we found which had clear instructions (not a Gorilla lift company video). Only issue is that 2 bolts are in wheel well and one is in an rail support so we needed a 13mm deep socket. My trailer is 5x8 with a 4foot gate and only one is needed. Prior to this lift, I had to be careful of my back. Now I can almost lift this gate with what I call dishwasher foot lift. I can lift it with one hand, in stead of lifting and resting the gate on my hip and the bench pressing it the rest of the way. Now it is so easy, I have to make sure it doesnt get away from me and go too far forward which is not really an issue.

read some reviews and some said one was enough to easily raise and lower your gate, maybe you could sell the other one and reduce the cost of purchase. So with one its like lifting maybe 10 or 15 pounds, a great improvement! But after I installed the second rail its like nothing to lift!You bought it, use both! I looked on you tube along with the instructions and it was relatively simple to install. Remember to use good sharp metal drill bits, I used some cheap ones for the first rail and it took me over two hours to drill the holes! Then I found some titanium tipped bits and was able to drill all the holes in just minutes! Be real careful when you use the half inch bit when you step up to that,it will more than likely grab and the drill can really do you some harm if you dont release it fast enough! I bought some stainless steel eye bolts and S hooks and mounted it directly to the face of the gate instead of the side, seams to be of more direct line with the rail..buy the plastic caps to finish off the job as long as you are buying this..I really do like this product and it works great!

I mounted the spring housings on a trailer with round tubing rails. It was probably a little more difficult than on a trailer with flat top angle rails. It worked out just fine, looks good and works as advertised. I’m very happy with the results!

I LOVE this kit! We installed it in less than an hour. Now dropping and lifting our trailer gate is no longer a 2 person event. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the ends of the tubes dont come with any protection (caps). Upon purchasing and installing the assist, we realized that the springs and cables inside the rails will be exposed to rain and mud when hauling our Ranger. Back to Amazon to buy a set of end caps (they were only $7 but it would have been nice to have 2 in the kit).

This product is going to save my back over the years to come. I have a very heavy gate on my landscaping trailer and I put it up and down at least 20 times every day. Instead of having to do a squat maneuver to get my gate up, now I flip it up with my foot and the rest of the way I push-up with a finger tip. It is a game changer

Easy install,well constructed

I got this for my dad for Father’s Day because he runs a lawn care business. He’s getting older and was having issues with the gait throwing his back out constantly. This thing seriously changed his life. He can not rave higher about it. I’d recommend to anyone who asked!
