Greater than one weekThese make a tremendous difference in an audio system. Depending on the quality of your system, you will be more than a little impressed. It is probably a bigger bang the better your audio system is and I cant compare to my older more midfi type audio systems but thats my gut. People are deploying very sophisticated and quite expensive alternatives but all I can say is this more than meets the threshold to matter so if you have any interest or doubt; give it a try.

15-06-2025This is a nice compact and well built unit. That met my object of providing a short optical run from my Cisco 8-port router to my home theater PC. (HTPC) I separately order a compatible Cisco transceiver and 1 meter optical cable. From the Media Converter I ran a short high quality ethernet cable to the JCAT NET XE card in the HTPC. Not a profound increase in sound quality but a noticeable improvement. Quick and easy installation. Id recommend this for audiophile use.

> 3 dayUsed this to put my IPMI interface for the serve onto a fiber network. The server is on fiber for isolation/lightning protection. The IPMI wasnt accessible from the 10G cards, so the 1G needed to be converted to fiber to remote access the server. Works great for that.

> 3 dayI was looking for something to be an air gap between my radio tower where I get my Internet from and my home servers. I simple connected a fiber line between the two and plugged in the ethernet and plugged it in, and it just worked. I have not needed to even think about it once since I installed them which I think is the whole point of this type of device. You should not even know it is there if it is doing its job and this fills that roll 100%.
