I bought this wire for adding a heavy duty lighting circuit in my 5th wheel trailers rear compartment. It works well and is 100% copper strands. It solders easily. It worked very well for a12volt DC high amperage lighting circuit. I would buy again. Works well, 100% copper. Great 12 gauge wire for heavy duty circuit.

The cord is really good with nice, thick insulation and fine stranded copper wire. It is very flexible. Please note that the cord is NOT rated for mains AC voltages. This is a LOW VOLTAGE cord (up to 48 volts DC or AC)! The insulation looks like it could be THHN, but its not. I not sure if it is rated for 85°C and the cord is not marked in any way! Finally, the clear plastic outer sheath is very thin and the two wires will separate quite easily. If you are going to be dragging this around, youll need to tape it up to keep the wires together. All in all, this is a good low voltage power or high power speaker cord for stationary or permanent use.

Soft and flexible enough for automotive use and splits easily as needed.

This zip-cord has the typical PVC insulation in red/black color but also has an additional clear jacket covering the PVC. That clear jacket (not sure what material it is made out of) is slippery and abrasion resistant. There are pros and cons to that. The obvious advantage is that this cable pulls easy through raceways or conduits and even pulling it around a sharp corner is unlikely to damage the cable. The downside to that extra layer of insulation is that it also resists any attempts to strip the insulation to terminate the zip cord. If you look at some of the negative reviews you will find that people are easily irritated by the difficulties of stripping the insulation from the wires. However Im happy to spend a little extra effort when I have to terminate a new cable knowing that it will resist damage when used in a portable/mobile environment. I did not have any problems separating the red and black wire. I did not attempt to test whether it is truly 12 awg (but it appears to be) nor did I test whether it is pure copper.

I made extension cords for my solar panels using this and power pole connectors. They work great, and you can never have too many extension cords for outdoor portable use.

After seeing a few supposed deals on speaker wire, this came on my radar. The reviews looked good. I trimmed off one end with a good wire cutter and took a good look with a magnifier. Yes, it is real copper. I checked its size with a 30 amp (12 gauge) Powerpole terminal, and it fits exactly. The strands are just right for going in without fighting. I have used the red/black Radio Shack zip cord over many years, and the insulation on this wire seems to be at least equal, if not better. I have not tested it for heat resistance.

Got this on prime day for a killer deal. Havent had a chance to use it yet but seems to be pure copper. Not cca.
