> 24 hourSome say that the consistensy is a bit offputting but overall the flavors taste good. I have one a little bit over halfway through my long run and drink it down with some water. It provides energy and a boost of caffeine to keep me going!

> 24 hourWhen I was in college forever ago, I worked nights at a now defunct sporting goods store that sold Gu. I loved them so much to help give me a boost of energy to push through 2 jobs and a full time course load. I was so surprised when i came across them on Amazon, 2 kids and a lot of big training goals later. I hoped and hoped they tasted as good as they did back in my college days, and they did not dissapoint. I love how every flavor is still super sweet like frosting with such a little amount of sugar. They still taste great and provide sustained energy with no jitters. As a bonus, I absolutely love that they are thicker and less runny now then they were back then. They are so much easier and less messy to eat. In these crazy times, its good to know that you can still rely on Gu.

> 24 hourI hadn’t tried these and have now tried many flavors and this is just beyond delicious if you love mint chocolate. Super helpful when you need energy on a bike ride or hike.

> 24 hourIm a big guy who needs a little extra kick when walking around especially thanks to a lot of genetic nerve and muscle issues so having something that puts a little fuel in my tank to keep me going when I have to walk around town is great. These are also really great for dieting purposes too as they have more than enough going for them to fight off hunger for another hour or two and being better for you than candy bar. As for this particular flavor it was definitely more coconut than toasted marshmallow but I still really liked it.

> 24 hourI have used energy gels for over 10 years for a variety of race distances in running and cycling. It helps when you use one prior to a race and then I continue using additional gels every 40-45 minutes until I finish my race. The Caramel Macchiato has a nice taste and doesnt overpower you with the coffee taste. The amount of caffeine is very good for long or intense workouts, whereas on shorter runs, I use gels with 25 mg of caffeine. I can finish my exercises without feeling drained. Be sure to hydrate! The only drawback is this flavor does not have a litter leash as the Clif Shot gels have.

> 24 hourI never really can tell whether these gels work. Is it all psychological, or can your body really use those extra 100 calories, now? Regardless, for 8+ mile runs, I tend to use a gel every 5 miles. I know that the caffeine gives me a mental pick-me-up toward the end of a run or race. I tend to alternate caffeine and no-caffeine gels, and I make sure I have one for mile 22-23 during a marathon. This caramel macchiato is a pleasant enough flavor, but I have to admit that I buy whatever is the best price point. This last time, it was... caramel macchiato!

> 24 hourFor intermediate to long runs, I always start first thing in the morning and before breakfast. I find that morning runs that start with an energy gel go much better than an empty tank, but doesnt weigh me down like a full breakfast. You definitely need water when trying to down the thick paste, however. Its like super viscous brownie batter. The taste is good enough. Youre not going to be jonesing for an energy gel snack any time soon, but youre not grossed out by the flavor.

> 24 hourI do triathlons and IRONMANS and GU is by far my go to. Some people dont like the texture or that you need to drink water with it. I love it for those reasons. Its not like a drink so a little chewing but I like that and the water I rinse swoosh it around and it give me the energy I need.
