GU Energy Original Sports Nutrition Energy Gel, 24-Count, Assorted Indulgent Flavors

Admittedly, the “thicker” flavors are a bit more difficult to get down, especially if the get cold. But I’ve adapted to it. I’m not sure there’s a Gu flavor I don’t like. I’ve been using them for years and will continue to. I also like that they participate in the TerraCycle zero-waste program.

These things are fantastic. My wife and I carried several of them with us when we ran our first half marathon, and Im convinced there were times that these were the only things keeping us going. The flavors are great, personally I like the chocolate and coffee flavors best but my wife loved the caramel and vanilla so everyones happy! This pack came with a ton of them too, we carried quite a few with us to the half marathon and there were a lot left over so I took some to work to get me through night shift. These little guys pack quite a punch, and I was surprised by how much energy I got from one little pouch, and the energy didnt wear off too fast either. Highly recommended for runners or anyone living on caffeine and looking for a better alternative to guzzling energy drinks all night when youre too tired to be operating heavy machinery but still are expected to do so.

I love the variety of flavors and these are excellent pre-workout in the morning before the gym. I definitely feel an energy boost and I am not as sore as I am without it. If youre not used to these gels, they can initially be a turn-off, but now I love it. This is my favorite energy supplement so far.

Consistently work for fuel for long runs, no stomach upset and I like the caffeine options.

As an endurance athlete (running, bicycling) I have used many types, brands, and flavors of energy foods. I am partial to GU, as it goes down easy, gives little to no stomach upset, and has a predictable effect on my workout. I was very excited to see the Caramel Macchiato flavor, and had to give it a try. Typically I have days that I want to carry fruit flavors, and days that I opt for the sweets... I could carry the Caramel Macchiato GU any day, and I would be happy. The taste is distinct, yet oddly neutral, it goes down smooth and easy, and has good mouth-feel. It washes down well with water, and if you happen to grab a sports drink accidentally at a water station, it does not give a stomach-churning clash. The gel acts fairly quickly, and does not give a quick crash. If I had to pick just one gel to run or bike with from now on, GU Caramel Macchiato is it!

I use gels for every race and for time trial workouts. Only use ones with caffeine to get that extra pop. Tried these and it was like WOW. You can feel the pep...like jet fuel vs diesel compared to my other gels. Highly recommend. Costs more, but not a deal breaker.

Not sending back because I’m using 23 GU’s from this box. Hopefully I’ll be able to remove the detritus from the ‘broken’ GU that has leaked onto the others. Box was in pristine shape but inside the box one of the GU’s broke open leaving a thick gooey mess among the others.

I have used these gels to fuel long endure events. They taste good, and the fact that they contain caffeine is a bonus

Some say that the consistensy is a bit offputting but overall the flavors taste good. I have one a little bit over halfway through my long run and drink it down with some water. It provides energy and a boost of caffeine to keep me going!
