> 24 hourI like both the taste and the consistency. It’s vanilla, but not overwhelming and it doesn’t repeat on me like some products do. The packaging is small with no sharp edges. Price is good when compared to similar products. The consistency is closer to pudding than runny liquid so I can eat it in two or three ‘slurps’ without it spilling over my fingers or worse still over the shifters on my bike over 30 seconds or so. I can’t speak to the amount of sodium, caffeine or amino acids but if I’m dragging this always peps me up.

> 24 hourIn my opinion, this is THE BEST tasting power gel on the market. GU has really hit a homerun with this one. A lot of their fruit flavors are pretty disgusting, and the Espresso is kind of grainy. This salted caramel literally tastes like youre eating straight-up caramel from the sundae bar!! My wife and I run 25-30 miles a week with long runs every week, and weve come to appreciate these quick fuel sources. She generally hates these types of gels, but this is the one flavor and brand that she will actually use. Plus, the added caffeine really helps provide some energy for those last few miles on a long run.

> 24 hourThe grape one tastes like bad cough medicine, but the others were great! After trying these flavors, I’m doing subscribe and save with the caramel flavor.

> 24 hourThis is the best flavor of GU, and has caffeine! If I am going to be out for a long day climbing a big objective, I will bring 3-4 of these along with several CLIF Shot Bloks and a protein bar for variety. Other flavors of GU make me gag, but the salted caramel actually tastes like something you would put on ice cream... so good!

> 24 hourEnergy gels are a fact of life once words like marathon and all of its variants start to enter your vocabulary. To perform your best, you need energy, and one of the best ways of getting energy quickly is consuming energy gels. GU gels are an essential item in my distance running arsenal, and you should seriously consider getting some, too. Unlike SOME energy gels Ive tried, the taste (vanilla bean) actually isnt bad. Do yourself a favor, however, and wash the gel down with plenty of water to avoid that yummy gel aftertaste. The gel sits lightly in your stomach and is quickly absorbed by your body, delivering energy just when you begin to flag. I use these religiously when training for my longer-distance races and when on extended bicycle rides. They fit easily into my running belt, under-saddle bag, and the pocket in the back of my running shirt. Buy them by the case for maximum value! GU wont let you down!

> 24 hourSo I actually have a pretty simple flavor taste, but Ive used these Gu Energy Gels for both Marathon race days as well as training. Theyre lightweight, easy to swallow, and typically do not leave a bad aftertaste. Vanilla bean is just my personal favorite flavor. Experiment with what you may or may not like. Always experiment with nutrition on training runs, and not race days, as everyones digestion is different, and they may cause upset stomachs if you havent used them before. Other than that, the only real downside, is if you dont stop to open and use them, they can make your hands sticky, because a little bit always kind of leaks out while youre opening and running.

> 24 hourI’ve purchased a lot of GU but wanted to try a new flavor. I was not disappointed with the salted caramel. GU is my go to energy boost before and during any long run and when it tastes good it makes it even better. Love this product!
