I install this CPU on a new PC, new cooler CoolerMaster ML240L.

100% a step up from my old skylake as well as its predecessor. Runs a few Celsius higher then most chips but with a decent cooler you should be maintaining around 38 Celsius at idle and no more then 75 under load. Great overclocking as mine is paired with a gigabyte aorus gaming 7. Have it overclocked to 4.9 as I found that it was the best option for staying cooler and everyday use. Easy oc to plus 5 as well

There is nothing I cannot do with this processor. Only downside is it doesnt come with a cooler.

Love Intel and this is the best for the price on the market. This generation is very awesome because it has more cores! Would I replace my i7-7700K to this i7-8700K: absolutely not! However, changing computer and putting this in it is fantastic! Should I buy this one or save 50$ to by the i7-7700K, buy this one! I change computer every year and I have 3 running computers in the house : i5-8600K, i7-7700K and i7-8700K.
