I got this with my new pc a year and half ago and it was doing great until recently. As of version 11.7.1 and now, version 12.0, it produces a popup error that for some reason they arent able to resolve. Ive spoken to the iolo tech support which has some of the laziest people Ive ever dealt with working for them. Their sole answer for everything is to uninstall & reinstall; no matter how many times youve done that already. They said the issue would be resolved with version 12 but that hasnt happened so I cant recommend this product. Im very disappointed as this program has done a lot of good over the time Ive owned it but with their last two releases I cant say that anymore.

The program does a good job of keeping your computer in shape. But System Mechanics downfall is that after 1 year you have to buy the software again. Most other tune up programs will not do this to you.

I started out with System Mechanic 10 (downloaded directly from IOLO) and they gave a free upgrade to v11, now on 11.5. I have been using it for about 5 months now. Used successfully on machines running Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. I have ZERO complaints. Key issue to be aware of is if you wish to run a separate anti-virus program (I prefer Norton Internet Security), do not install System Mechanic Professional or Premium because it wants to run its own anti-virus feature and will fight with your other one. With that consideration, System Mechanic (Basic) 11.5 has performed flawlessly and resulted in noticeable speedup. Cleans out clutter, fixes broken shortcuts, allows you to easily identify and choose what programs load when Windows starts (left neglected, the garbage really adds up, robbing your system resources and causing other problems), keeps Windows Registry cleaned up (necessary after installing/uninstalling programs), fixes drive errors, basically everything in the way of system maintenance is under the hood of System Mechanic. I also used it to remove a very stubborn WebRoot Spy Sweeper from a laptop I inherited; it would not turn off, would not uninstall by any typical means (run uninstall ineffective, Windows Control Panel program removal ineffective) but System Mechanic did the job and cleaned up the Windows Registry afterward, too. This saved me a big fee from on-line tech support.

Whenever my computer slows down, I know it needs a good clean out. In about five minutes sister Mechanic does that for me. Love it!

I have used Nortons 360 for many years and then ran System Mechanic alongside to compare. System Mechanic added a lot of features that Norton 360 lacked that made my 2 computes run problem-free. Consequently, I began to use Nortons 360 only for superb its anti-virus abilities. Recently I purchased System Mechanic Pro, which has anti-virus features, and I use it exclusively. The only problem I had is with Version 11.7 anti-virus scanning abilities but Version 12 has fixed that. All in all I an very pleased with System Mechanic Pro and it keeps my 2 computers humming along.

After running System Check, which reported tons of issues with my PC which it recommended System Mechanic to fix the problems. I downloaded System Mechanic and installed it; it would not run. I uninstalled it, and called Iolo Tech Support. The rep downloaded and installed System Mechanic again, and still it would not run. So then he runs Malwarebytes on my PC, and says the problems that it is reporting are the reason that System Mechanic will not run. He offers to fix my PC for $200, which entitles me to one full year of support...he offers over and over and over. I refused, and ended the call. BTW, my PC is normally protected by Microsoft Security Essentials, so how did these viruses and other issues get into my PC?!

I have purchased the last 2 years from Target stores. These are supposed to be unlimited devices for a year. I have 8 computers and 3 laptops. So after my adding this to my 8 computers. I tried to download this unto my 3 laptops but could not. The CD said that my key was no longer valid and I needed to purchase a new one. I tried many times contacting a customer service address provided. But I never got thru, all I got was a link to F.A.Q. and that was it! So I will never use this software ever again and think it will be for unlimited devices! It works ok for the 8 computers I have. But as long as there are no problems and glitches it is at best ok to use. $40 wasted and I want to let others know also.
