Works as expected. Size is a plus. As a side note, for sat/cable installers, some boxes emit the same tone as this so be sure to disconnect any existing receivers before toning lines.

    Great little tester for coax

Designed to identify cables in an MDU and detect troublesome short circuits, this pocket continuity tester and toner is perfect for testing cables up to 5,000 ft (1,500 m) on the go. This tester features the following:

Loud tone identifies line carrying signal
LED light indicates splitters, DC shorts, and other self-grounding devices in cable
Manual ON/OFF switch preserves battery life
Right angle male push-on connector is ideal for working in confined areas
Female push-on connector is perfect for speed toning
Accurate up to 5,000 feet (1,500 m)
Connect the toner without emitting a tone under discretion
Includes (1) AAA 1.5V battery and (1) pocket clip

PT-100 Instructions
1. Unscrew the speaker located on the base of the unit.
NOTE: The base also houses the ON-OFF switch and powers on the unit when the speaker is removed.
2. The barrel of the device houses a DC transmitter and male F connector push-on fitting. Attach this
fitting to a female F connector port.
3. Touch the speaker to the end of each cable. When the correct cable is found, you will hear an audible tone.
4. When finished, screw the speaker into the base to power off the unit.

How to Read Results
1. If the cable condition is good, the LED will illuminate and the Speaker will emit a tone.
2. If there is an open circuit, the LED will be off and the Speaker will not emit a tone.
3. If there is a short circuit, the LED will be on, and the Speaker will not emit a tone.
4. If testing on a cable with Voltage over 4V, the LED will be off, and the Speaker will emit a tone.
Note that the pitch will change and the volume will increase in this case.
