I used a torch to ensure it was sticky because rolling it flat is too much work PLUS I like the pattern! I used it on the floor and on the box and where it is sealed off at the B-pillar, and made a big difference.

My 2nd time using this 80 mil kilmat. First was a 2011 Camry (turned a Toyota into a Lexus. LOL). Put a nice system (Focal speakers, etc) in Camry…. Used the Kilmat inside the doors on the doors skins, under the door panels, trunk floor, trunk sides, trunk lid, license plate, behind and under back seat. It did a great job of isolating the interior from outside…. Knock on the door skins and it sounds like a thud instead of a ring; shut the doors with the music cranked and you barely hear it outside the car! And no rattles from the sub hitting. Now I’m doing a 2011 Tundra crewmax with a very high end system…. Focal utopia components, Focal K2 power components rear, focal flax series subs, Kenwood 1037 head,JL vx800i, JL XD600/1v2,etc Used kilmat inside doors, under door panels, behind rear seat, 4 coats of rubberized undercoating spray under cab, then used 1/4” closed cell foam (siless) over the top of all above listed locations (except outside under cab)… WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The kilmat isolates and dampens while the closed cell foam adds the acoustic deadening I was looking for. The undercoating sprayed under the cab of the truck added the damping and isolation under the truck without having to pull the seats and carpet to install kilmat.. The sound made from just shutting the doors makes it obvious how much better the listening environment is going to be. I have bought (3) boxes of kilmat 80 mil 36 sq ft, (2) boxes of siless closed cell foam, 3 pack of installation “rollers” …. About 300.00 Spend less on your components and do the above process first. You’ll get much more out of your audio equipment! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I installed Kilmat in my Toyota Camry SE; which as any Toyota Camry owner can tell you the road noise is quite loud. I did the entire trunk, and all of the doors, including the inside of the skin of the door, and the door panel itself. I will say this product is fantastic at blocking noise and deadening sound vibrations. Installation is easy and definately get the rollers (espeically the small one) as they make a huge difference. My aftermarket stereo really came to life after applying Kilmat generously on the doors; the bass came to life and the nuances in the music could now be heard. The Camry is much quieter now and the doors have that quality thump when you shut them. the outside noise is now at a minimum; and you can tell you are sitting in a quiet car. The nice thing is that you do not have to blast the music to hear the nuances; which is great for my daughters ears. I found most reviews here say that there is no smell; this in my experience is completely untrue. Perhaps there may be an off-gas period that needs to happen, but the inside of my Camry smells like tar or perhaps a glue smell. However, the smell is not repulsive or strong, but definitely present; its like someone farted in the seat and you sat in the seat and got that whif.... opening the windows relieves the strength of the smell for a bit. I left the windows open today to deal with the smell; and I did the trunk a few days ago and it still smells. I have read that Kilmat is not asphalt based, which is great, but beware that after applying you may smell it for a while. To be fair, it has only been a few days since applying, so I will update this review when the smell disappears as I expect that it will. I would and will continue to purchase this product as the value of what this does for the price is great. I plan on doing my 4Runner next.

I applied this to the roof on the inside of my car. It went on easily and stuck very well with little effort. I liked the pattern in the foil that helps you see how well you have rolled it. This was also priced well - a great value.

I have a 2013 Mercedes C300 4MATIC. The only place on the vehicle where they do not add sound deadening insulation is in the trunk, where the spare tire lies. I decided to give this a shot because it had a 5 star review. Well, it did not let down! There is a noticeable difference in the road noise. I am very OCD about things, and this took care of all my worries. I utilized the 18sqft package, and had one mat left over. I did a full layer covering the entire spare tire well. It took about 2 hours, with the assistance of my wife. I would highly recommend getting the roller to get air bubbles out and to ensure proper adherence. Prior to installation I cleaned all surfaces with rubbing alcohol and ensured that all particles were swept out. I DID NOT utilize gloves, nor would I suggest it because they just get in the way. I took her for a drive down the interstate immediately following install, and all I can say is. WOW! Definitely worth the $50 bucks. Truthfully, it does not look all that bad, either. All of it is hidden under the spare tire carpet covering, so you have to lift that up before you even know that it is there.Thank you KILMAT!!!!

but i have not yet done a road test.. i WILL report how well it works once i road test it.. adhesion..? YES.. i would say excellent from my short experience.. i applied it to the back side of auto grade cut pile carpet that matches the interior carpet after cutting it to fit the trunk as seen in the pix.. also applying the sound deadening material to the inside of various places in the car as seen in the pix.. apparently GM did not feel they should use adequate sound deadening material inside this 1970 cadillac eldorado which was one of the top cadillac models of the time.. the car is a california car from my home area in san francisco and the SF peninsula where i grew up and spent much of my first 50 years.. the car was represented to be a superior example but some time in its 50 years it was left with water in the trunk.. the selling dealer did not think that an important fact so while there is no rust under the car there sure is a lot of surface rust inside, thus i am now cleaning that up and applying this lead foam material to give this car what it deserves as a 50 year old, 98k mile all original cadillac.. lots of rustoleum paint and other stuff from amazon is giving me something to do while the china covid19 virus is keeping people at home..

Used these to settle down the vibration on my hood, trunk lid, etc. after I changed my OEM engine mounts to less squishy custom mounts. Highly recommend.
