LEGO Ideas 21317 Disney Steamboat Willie Building Kit (751 Pieces)

My son LOVES Legos and Adores Steam Boat Willie. We couldnt pass this up for Christmas. He was so excited to receive it. I did price compare and Amazon had the best price around. All the pieces were there and it arrived in the time frame stated. Bonus points for moving pieces! The smoke stacks go up and down when you roll the boat across the floor!

This is the perfect gift for the Disney Lover! We have not finished putting it together yet, but it seems like it will be awesome when it will be finished!

Very cute. My 90 year old mom loves Mickey Mouse. He has always been her favorite character. She was also born in 1928 so they share a birthday. One of her great granddaughters put it together for her.

This is an awesome set that really underscores a very important time period concerning cartoons, Disney and the like. Being this Lego set is based off of the first cartoon with sound as well as motion at the same time, I would say the set captures the essence of the cartoon and it is an amazing and great branching out for Lego. I have dealt with (and had fun with) some of the other adult-oriented Lego sets and they are also a bit challenging, as this set is. This one is a good bit easier than the Mustang set I have (thousands of pieces) but this is also one that I will leave together and really not play with. I bet this would probably just go up in value if not opened and I highly recommend considering this if you love collecting these sets.

I am absolutely thrilled that this is not all black and white! The colorful bricks used for the inner workings of the steam boat really made it fun! I wish you could have seen my smile when I opened the box! The build is not difficult, but has some areas that are a little trickier than others. The step by step instructions were easy enough for a 9 year old to follow. It took him approximately 4 hours or so. He had one smokestack get stuck, but we found a fix to help us. Simply pick up the one smoke stack and gently put it down. I know some others had to rebuild theirs by removing one piece. We did not need to do that. Your finished steamboat is aproximately 10”x5” and features moving smokestacks, and moving paddlewheel! It comes with both Mickey and Minnie! I love knowing all the cheerful colors fill the interior of our Steamboat!

It was kind of frustrating to not find one last piece when putting it together, and yet have a bunch of extra ones that didnt really belong anywhere. Other than that, it was still fun to put together.

I grew up with Mickey and Minnie. And Grandma and I am absolutely delighted to be able to pass this wonderous tradition on to yet another generation. Blessings to all.
