Leviton DW15A-1BW Decora Smart Wi-Fi Plug-in Outlet, Works with Amazon Alexa, No Hub Required

I have to reset the switch to factory settings and reconfigure the WiFi every single day so that I can control this switch from the My Leviton app. The switch stays connected to Levitons cloud for a few hours at best. It completely defeats the purpose of having these things in the first place.

What a great way to control the Christmas lights. It was really quick and easy to set up. Love it!

Difficult to connect with Galaxy S8+. Instructions with product are poor. It has been advertised to work with ECHO, but will not sync. This is a bust. I will most likely send it back.

Ive had automated lighting in my homes since the 1980s, using X-10, then Insteon. As an electrical engineer, Im acutely aware of the extreme transients that can occur on household power lines, and the damage they can do to poorly-designed electronics. Smart dimmers connect directly to the power lines without any transformer, and so are particularly susceptible to this kind of damage. I dont want to think about how many crappy X-10 and Insteon dimmers, controls, and switches Ive had to replace over the years. My point is, dont even think of buying from anyone but a highly-trusted name like Leviton. Youre making a big commitment in time and money, and youll have to live with this stuff, hopefully for a long time. So far this system has worked perfectly for me. Setup is easy, the app is good, and integration with Alexa works perfectly as well. The functions are well though out and include thoughtful features like being able to turn off the LED for a darker house, and returning to a preset brightness level when turned on. I hope Leviton will expand the product line to include additional items such as an outdoor-rated switch for controlling landscape lighting, an RF/IR repeater for ceiling fan, air conditioner, etc. control. Its a drag to have to use other vendors, as you end up with a zillion different apps for different devices.

Great product - works as advertised. But it only works if your WiFi is up and running. So if your WiFi occasionally loses its mind (power loss, lost internet connection, etc.) you will not be able to control the connected device during the period the WiFi is down.

One works but plug slips in and out - there is nothing in plug receptacle to hold plug and lamp does not get power. The other one will not connect to Samsung Smart Hub & Echo Alexa. I have 10 total in my house so I m very familiar with resetting them and connecting. Not sure if these were refurbs or just a bad batch but they need returning.

After purchasing a cheaper model and having them fail, I bought this and have been very happy with it. I have my swamp cooler plugged into it and when I am on my way home, I turn it on in the app so that the house is nice and cool for me by the time I get home. A real energy saver! I wish I would have bought all of the Leviton.

I like to have the lights on when I get home at night, but I dont like leaving them on all day and night wasting energy. So, I decided to dip my toe into home automation and did some research and found the Leviton Smart Wi-Fi Plug In. The app was easy to install and set up and the instructions were simple. I dont have a lot of patience for electronics that require a degree in engineering to set up and appreciated the intuitive controls. The schedules were easy to set up and I enjoy the ability to turn my lights on using the app before I get home. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to simple and easy light automation and scheduling to their homes for safety and peace of mind

This works simply when you plug it in. I highly recommend this item.

Purchased two of these to install in my 20 year old home. All existing wiring was completed by a licensed electrician and passed inspection by electrical inspector. I paid a licensed electrian to install both of these because I wasnt 100% sure of what the instructions were telling me. I have used this electrician for many years. One switch performed as Leviton said it would and the second switch would not. I traded emails with customer service for two weeks and tried everything they told me to do. Still the switch did not work and I asked for a replacement. Replacement arrived and I installed exactly as the electrician had installed the original. The switch still doesnt work on program mode. Now the second switch that was originally working does not work. I am about ready to remove both switches and go back to manual switches.
