Greater than one weekI was able to replace my sheared-off gear assembly in my Chamberlain LiftMaster 1/2 HP garage door opener in about two hours. I recommend searching YouTube for the excellent instruction video I followed (it made it so much easier): https://youtu.be/nmZlYQAZmLg After a few days the garage door opener continues to function properly.

> 3 dayIf you have some basic mechanical skills, buy this and save yourself a lot of money. It appeared to be good quality and installed easily and got my opener working again.

> 3 dayDoes what it is made to do…with one exception. The set screws on the collar on the end of the worm gear shaft are too long and hit the little circuit board next to it. The tabs on the black plastic interrupter run in a slot between two circuit boards one of which is the one the screws would hit. Good that I noticed that before running it or the circuit board would have been broken possibly making the opener unusable. I wound up using the old collar with shorter screws. Otherwise installation is pretty easy and everything fits as it should. I did run into a problem getting the bushing off the worm gear shaft due to burrs raised by the original set screws. I used a Dremel and small stone to grind down the burrs and then the bushing came off OK.

> 3 dayUsed it to fix an old garage opener, and I was done in less than an hour. It wouldve cost me hundreds of dollars to have ti fixed by a garage repair person, and I did it with just regular tools and a stepladder. If you have doubts, check the Youtube channel, and they have videos on how to do it.
