> 3 dayI fixed my door. Start to finish, taking it off, tearing it apart and buying parts then re assembling.Probably 4 hours. I could do it in two next time. I unplugged a piece inside to move the motor and forgot to plug it back in putting it together. Thats what made it take so long. However I saved at $200.00 form buying a new opener. Calling the local dealer it was close to $400.00 for a new opener installed. I dont know what they would have charged to fix it.

> 3 dayInstructions are decent but our existing Liftmaster opener was somewhere in between the two types listed in the instructions. A little improvising and assumption needed, but all un assembled and reassembled well. Works good too. One thing to watch out for is make sure the top-most ring around that bearing is aligned to the screw holes properly such that the top plastic piece dust cover will snap back in properly. Did take about five hours to install, but I’m inexperienced and it was very hot here. Plus I’m a perfectionist :)

Greater than one weekcomprehensive instructions good quality product. would rather spend a little time and very little money than to replace a perfectly good unit.
