Greater than one weekI think the seller send me a counterfeit product, since the serial number on the box mismatch with the label on the mouse. Ive included photos to verify the problem. The mouse itself feel very uncomfortable to move around because the sensor sometimes random slow down, make this mouse lack of precision when playing fps shooters or fast pace game. The left click seems very stiff and not like my old g400s which has a much better click response, the button feels smoother with crisp. Maybe Im just unlucky enough to received a defective mouse.

> 3 dayBeen using these MX518/G400 series for over 15 years now. This new model is my 4th one. It’s so perfect I can’t use any other gaming mouse. The only downside of the new model is the top surface is too glossy. When my hands sweat it gets a little dirty. But it’s lighter and faster than the previous model so can’t complain as much.

> 3 dayI dont use it for games. Thats why I left the gaming star rating blank. I use it for AutoCAD and Creo parametric. The extra buttons come in handy. Also I find having to change out batteries more annoying than a chord. So this one is perfect for my needs. And it fits perfect in my hand. Never any fatigue or discomfort. Thanks!

11-06-2025I had used a MX 518 as my primary mouse for many years. It finally broke and I was disappointed to find it was no longer made. I tried a few others but was never happy with them. I was skeptical when this was reissued. I figured it was just a cheaper knock off. It does seem to have been cost reduced some, and it is cheaper then the original. But I like it. It works well and it is fast. I had to slow it down. If you were a fan of the original, you will find this a acceptable replacement. Update: I have noticed there has been a large price increase for this mouse. At the current price it’s is much less of a deal. If I was in the market, I would still buy it, but be unhappy with the price.

> 3 dayThere is no way to lock the wheel to spin freely; looks like one that does it with all the buttons by the wheel but it doesnt.

> 3 dayyou can never really recreate the exact same mouse, because of new technology used ect., but theG MX518 comes very close to the original exept it is lighter and because of that feels a little bit cheaper then the original. I contribute that more to that the electronics used these days are just lighter in weight, that doesnt mean its inferior quality. I use mine for about a year now almost every day and it works just fine with gaming and office work.

Greater than one weekI first bought an MX518 when they first came out 15(?) or so years ago. I have owned 2 or 3 over the years. It is simply the best mouse ever made. They even discontinued it at one point and people were selling used ones on ebay for $200. Its the IBM Model M (keyboard) of mice. Absolute classic. Recommended to many people and all loved it.
