> 3 dayWas excited to upgrade my daily. Went to plug in and its literally DOA. Not recognized by windows or mac, not in device manager, etc. Tried all the software etc. Not recognized at ALL, not in device manager, no sound, nothing... Upon further investigation, as shown in another review, this is a counterfit. Box SN is covered up by random sticker. Original sticker shows a different serial number than on the mouse. Could not be more upset. BUYER BEWARE!!! Too good to be true.

> 3 dayMy old MX518 became victim of the infamous loose cable disease [which Im trying to fix because its one of best mouses (mices?) out there in the wild]. I decided to give this newer version a try but was skeptical of its quality due to the low low price point. Ive been using it moderately for close to a year now. At first it felt pretty much like its predecessor but over time its beginning to feel cheap, especially the scroll wheel. Its fine, though, for the price. I wish the original mice from that era that are out of print (MX518, G400, G9) werent so darn expensive *sad face*

> 3 dayThere is no way to lock the wheel to spin freely; looks like one that does it with all the buttons by the wheel but it doesnt.

> 3 dayI have bought 2 of these, i use one at work, one at home. Home consists of gaming primarily, and at work i use several spreadsheets throughout the day, the buttons to control mouse speed are very handy as well as using the thumb buttons to go back or forward on websites is very handy.

Greater than one weekI have been a fan of this mouse since it was new. For a wired laser mouse this is everything most people will need. Unless you need a macro mouse with 50 keys on it this will suffice for both office use and most gaming needs and last a long time doing it. The weight of the mouse is nice, enough heft to feel stable and keep you accurate when gaming. With several buttons, scroll click and even scroll side to side I have no issues with mapping all my needs on every game I play. Good deal at full price, even better when on sale.

> 3 dayAs most, Ive gone through some Mice (mouses?? :) and this is my 2nd favorite behind only the G9. (**See Update At Bottom**) I have a variety of wireless/corded mice and this is the one I prefer after years of using a G9 which finally gave up the ghost .. and last time I priced them I bout passed out. So, great all around mouse for gaming/office/editing or whatever you can think of to use a mouse for. #TwoThumbsUp (ummm See Below) UPDATE! Are these refurbs?? **** Mouse went completely bonkers after less than one month. #argh So I just ordered another one and am counting on my experience with the initial purchase being an anomalous fluke. We shall soon see. :( I will try to keep this review as current as possible as I hope my first failure was just bad luck of the draw.

14-06-2025Compared to the G400s that I had previously, the coating felt garbage on the mx518 legendary and the mouse overall felt a lot cheaper compared to the G400s. The cable was too thin to use in my zowie bungie so that made it even more annoying.
