Mario Kart 8 (Nintendo Wii U)

its Mario kart! what else can I say?!

Just brilliant, love it! Ive not played Mario Kart for years but its not lost any of its charm. Its the king of multiplayer, online works a dream too. I was expecting it to be crap online with wireless lag etc but Ive enjoyed smooth lag free gameplay. Highly recommended!

My son is very pleased with it.

Amazing. Graphics are stunning, gameplay is phenomenal and the Nintendo magic shines through. The track selection is great, with old and new shining with the increased power afforded by the new hardware. With a constant 60 frames per second the gameplay is incredibly smooth and fast. Character and kart selection is also varied and fun with plenty of combinations keeping the action fresh and exciting. And with two DLC packs on the way will only get better. Online is fast and fun, with reliable connections helping keeping things running smoothly and freely. The ability to play the game purely with the Wii U Gamepad is a fantastic addition and means you can free up the telly and play whenever you choose. Will update this review as i play the game more. Update: The first of the 2 download packs are out and for a little over £7 offers fantastic value for money expanding the game with additional characters, karts and 8 tracks! With exciting crossovers from other nintendo worlds such as The Legend of Zelda and F-Zero.

In two words....BUY IT. This is a great game to get you and your family started with a Wii U console after a barren drought of games available for it. The graphics are STUNNING and i cant emphasise enough how much the HD graphics adds to playability with so much going on during a race, even when youre playing split screen multiplayer version! The musical soundtracks accompanying each track are great and really add to the atmosphere. The sheer variety of tracks, kart types and characters ensures that well be playing this for many months to come in our household, and weve still not even touched the online mode! Youll have hour after hour of fun (and frustration) playing this. When Nintendo make a great game, they do it better than anybody. This is pure Nintendo Magic, back to its best.

Nice game, but I cannot connect to the internet for some reason, which is why I bought the game.

Ive loved all the MK games to date and this one adds to the franchise. The usual frantic action of MK is there and now the added zero gravity sections add a little more to the game. Tracks are gorgeous, music is incredible, visually stunning to look at and a whole lot of fun to play.

Same as others again. I was on this game with my dad and so only did single player game the speed is cut down a bit I was on Toads turnpike too and remember it so breifly on the n64 the cars runs slower than they did. So MK is always like this, if only you could make new tracks thats never been done before in a MK game. So if you fan of this stuff then get but 3 or 4 stars is enough.

Personally I havent played it but my daughters think its amazing so it must be good.
